Her voice is just so sublime. Not only does she have a fantastic voice but the work she puts in to researching her operatic roles is something to laud. I've never seen a singer so invested in her roles. She is the epitome of the consummate performer.
I enjoyed this very much!! Lovely to hear Sarah sing with such tenderness; also I think this benefits from being taken just a shade slower than is the norm. Marvellous, viva Sarah and thanks for posting. :)
Every note from her voice is pure gold. She understands the style and performs it impeccably, and her musicianship and phrasing is outstanding. Thank you for sharing.
Marvellous aria of the Begining Act III in Judas Maccabaeus and marvellous voice. Other fantastic version: James Bowman with The Kings Consort, Robert King
@@j.markbaker2172 Yes, the great Mackerras version. The complete magnificent performance pionner of modern conceptions with period instruments and small english choirs and orchestras
I needed to relax after the day's work, and I searched for this piece. Actually lived up to my expectations. Good memories too

Unhurried. Lovely and inventive ornaments. So much air. Athletic breath support!
Magical Sarah, love this beautiful aria. Handel aria's really are so special and to think some people are not aware of them, only knowing The Messiah.
Very musical, nice interpretation, good tempo, dinamics, colors, diction. I really enjoyed it. Very carefully interpreted.
Superbe, quelle voix et quelle magnifique interprétation !

I see my king coming down the stairs - the only chief and teacher - it is Jesus Christ - my dear Händel our father smiles and we are richer
Just lovely.

And don't forget Dame Janet Baker's recording with Sir Charles Mackerras, c1977.

Almost as good as Kathleen Ferrier - and Kathleen Ferrier is the absolute gold standard.
Yes, well, there's also Dame Janet Baker -- in the Mackerras recording from c1977.
