Looks great. I saw another vlogger reviewing it but your review was much more comprehensive. You have a gift for doing reviews. Dumb question: Thai is not one of the offline languages so how were you able to use it away from an internet connection?
It had a built in data card . You get 1 year free . After that its like 14 dollars a month . Or 44 dollars a year . I think thats right .
@@UTCM Thanks Bill. I suspect there will be a lot of interest from companies like Google but I can’t see how they can match it on size. Will be interesting to see how this evolves over the next 12 months.
This unit makes a lot of sense, Bill. Inaccurate translation can do your head in, same thing doing the sign language with the scarecrow! Back home in 5 days...bring it on.
Welcome home !
How the translator knew my name is a question I cant answer .
It's s smart translator 😊
I thought that was a little strange also 😃😆
Thanks, Bill a very thorough review from someone I do trust completely!
Thank you !
Careful Bill! You did so well at this review that more stuff could be coming your way!😂
Dont think so !
Just ordered one been thinking about it for weeks it will help me a lot coming back to Thailand in 1month , hopefully visiting chiang mie thanks for the review , cheers 🍻
Great I think you ll be very happy with it !
Mate That looks Good and Sounds Good can get you out of a lot of trouble miscommunication can get you in trouble that can get you out
Very true
Mine just got delivered today - it's great!! Small & easy to use, I can't wait to try it out - I wish I had one of these last time I was in Thailand, thanks again for the tip!
Excellent , I think you ll get good use of it ! You can also use it to learn .
Wow! That's a good price too!
I thought so too .
That looks really neat - I just ordered one, I'll be in Thailand in November (It'll give me time to practice with it). Thanks for the tip on this Bill & I hope you are doing well.
I think you ll be very pleased !
It looks like something even a non-techie like me could use@@UTCM
It sounds like a good deal. Except that, the data plan will run out (requiring a re-fill) and without a Wifi signal, I'd be out of luck if I were in some remote area.
I'll have to wait until someone makes a Thai translator that will work off line (in case there is no signal) and doesn't require a data plan. OK, OK.....maybe I'll never get my dream device.
Meanwhile, I'll continue to use the Google Translator app on my Apple iPhone (it's not perfect either). But, since I'm already carrying my iPhone well, it's one less gadget to carry and re-charge.
That lady is lovely and that mango juice looked so good. 🍹
Thanks for the review. Based on your findings and several other reviews ive purchased the T1 mini specifically for Thailand. Cheers.👍
Great ! You ll enjoy it
Great video. I just wish they would allow a few custom choices on the offline languages. I.E. Getting Thai and Tagalog as offline supported languages for me personally would be great.
Glad your lady was open .Device looks cool. Tks
Thanks !!
Excellent. I think this will help immensly.
Its very simple to use .
Bill great review, BTW you look 10 years younger.
Thank you ! I Feel great !
That lady is lovely and the mango smoothie looked really good.
It was good
Thanks, Bill! Will definitely be purchasing this item! Hope to be in Chiang Mai before the end of the year. I get so stoked thinking about that! 😊🙏
Yes hope you can make it !
I will definitely be buying one of these !!!¡!!!
And thank you for the referral !😊
You ll enjoy it works very well
Thank you for the review sir!
WElcome its a good product
Just ordered Bill, thanks for the review. I plan to enjoy my holiday and not try to learn a language. 😂🙏
Great you ll enjoy it
I will wait on getting one of these devices. With AI technology, they will keep getting better and faster translations.
I think something new is coming out as well
Great review thanks for the video
Thank you !
You don't need me no more 😂😭😭
I purchased that very same device from Amazon. So far I find it working good. But the disappointing things about it I find it does not have the Khmer Language. I want to travel to Cambodia. Plus my girlfriend and her family speak Cambodian. I am glad I found your video on this device Thank you
Thanks ! No it doesnt have it . But in speaking with them there plans are to keep adding to it .
Thank you Bill I appreciate it@@UTCM
Thanks for the review. I speak Thai at a reasonable level but can't read. I use google translate to read any printed sign I need to read.
Great !
Appreciate the review and device, no Tagalog or basaya…I’m Philippines. Not covered…
Yea didnt see that listed
Hello friend, thank you so much for your interest. We do support Tagalog/Philippines.
@@TimekettleTech That's good to know, but it needs to be reflected on the countries you offer. There are many foreigners that would consider your product if you offer Tagalog and or Basayan.
@@RedHorseAdventures Thanks a lot for your advice!
Great video Bill. You're looking well, sure hope you're feeling well too. the Fluentalk device is very interesting, I am considering how useful it may be for a couple of my Thai friends.
No doubt it's got an AI backend such as chatGTP. ChatGTP is providing far, far better translations than Google or anything else I've used so far. The difference that large language model AI provides is astounding. I do suspect it will have a limited life and go the way of the Blackberry as AI engines are now being built into Chrome and Microsoft Bing etc and no doubt Apple and the Android guys will make it more convenient to use a smartphone in the same capacity - even if not at the same level of ease of use and convenience. Anyway, time will tell. Still hoping to make it back to Chiang Mai before Christmas. My drinking buddies are dying so I better get there pronto.
Yes dont keep them waiting ! Feeling very good Thankyou !
@@UTCM I have pointed one of them, who speaks reasonable English, to your video. The other is her twin sister "Bun Girl" but I'm not committing to it just yet given the amount of recent assistance I have already given. Still, if you were in her neighborhood, I sure would like to see her reaction to it as it is on the cards at some point.
Been by there never see them out
@@UTCM Oh, thanks for that. I will follow-up and make sure everything is OK. Could just be a seasonal / timing thing or... I hate to think.
It's great. I like it. I currently reside in Thailand and have had success with Google Conversation and Camera on my iphone. This is better obviously. It appears to be seamless. Did you hold the button down continuously when conversing with another person or just once? Does it work offline or do you need a wifi or data plan?
Have to press each time and release . Does work offline on some lang. But not Thai as of yet .
Excellent VIDEO Bill 😊. Does that translater work for the Philippines 🇵🇭 Tagalog language 🤔 ❓️
Stay Safe 💕 💞 🙏 🙏
I did not see it listed
So you can just walk around and will automatically tap in to all these different locations Wi-Fi
God bless 🙏
Thank you !
Can you charge the battery like you do your cellphone or do you need an adapter for 220 voltage?
Same as cell phone
After the data ends after the first year, do you add more online? ( I did see someone asked how much it was- $44 )
Yes I think you can buy it yearly or monthly .
@@UTCMBill what about wifi connection to your smart phone
Bill - Since Thai is not one of the "available offline languages" - you mentioned that it had a data card that you could download thai? How do you do that?
I dont think its possible .
YOu got a large Smartphone!!!!!
I bought the one of these and after 1 day in Thailand i threw it back into my suitcase. Absolutely the worst use of my money. Using Google translate on my phone works a lot better and I already carry my phone with me. Using this device means you are carrying around another device and it kept freezing up and i would have to turn it off and back on. Just my experience with it.
I ve not had any issues with the one I have . I d send it back if it locks up .
Being you did not mention this, I’ll ask. Does the unit have volume control?
Yes two buttons on the left just like a cell phone
When translating English to Thai audio, Does it show the thai script onscreen for the thai person? Thanks
Yes it does
How much is the data card after 1 year
From what Im reading its 44 dollars a year unlimited use
Thanks! This is the one thing I was waiting to hear about!
I tryed using your code it doesnt work ??
I think it only works on the Time Kettle site
How much is the data plan after your free year is up?
14 a month or 44 for the year . I belive
I CAN'T SWITCH LANGUAGES!
make sure you are not selecting the same language , I had that happen when I tried to reverse the sequence. Once I changed the first lang the second changed ok
How easy is it to renew data after the free year?
Real easy but . There is also a way you can use your phone as a hot spot and no need to re new data plan .
@@UTCM that’s what I was wondering/ just use phone data. I think they do it for $49.99 a year - but you need a PHD to work out how to contact them.
You can hot spot off your phone and do same thing ....
@@UTCM I using phone as hot spot is probably best. Thanks 🙏
