    I played for a under thirteen football team back in 1977 and we used to lose almost every game but at least by being the goalkeeper I got plenty of action by the opposition and it kept me warm on those cold Sunday winters mornings..😂

      And my god those winter mornings in 1980s left me like an icicle - I am genuinely surprised I didn't get hypothermia from playing football.
      Kids these days have it easy with global warming and performance textiles!

    These kids remind me of myself. I was useless at Footie and still am.
    Even my nephews and nieces don't want me in their teams coz I'm so useless at footie.

    Nationwide was such a wonderful programme. The journalists' contributions, the filming, the gentle pace of the editing... so much more appealing than the frantic attention-seeking of so many of today's programmes.

      I tried to make a career out of music, and it wasn't meant to be, but true, I still enjoy it.
      It's therapeutic for me.
      My wife, on the other hand, has needed another type of therapy.
      I think it was when I took up playing the tin whistle.
      It did stretch the friendship.

    Lovely opener. In The first four seconds you can see a kick and hope hoof, a subsequent missed header, one lad kick the ball into his own face, a hand ball, and an absent keeper.

    1st second of the video is an indication of whats to come - ball into the box, striker volleys it into his own face 😂 but fair play to the manager ' as long as they are enjoying it and are happy I'm happy!' What a name their sriker had ' Austin Beauville' Made for stage and screen!
