This is my first RUclips comment, just wanted to say that as the video states these drills definitely work. I’ve been dancing salsa for a while and never spinned more than once, after 2 weeks practicing on this tutorial today I managed a triple spin. Thank you salsa ninja.
Really 😳 😊👏👏👏 That's great I'm gonna practice more...I have no dance training but I can spin 1 maybe 2times...Not sure what I'm doing wrg🤔🤔...but I'll try these drill 😊
When you bring your arms in to spin faster, bring them right in front of your belly as opposed to down in front of your waist. Just a tip from a ballet dancer ;) You lose centripetal force when you bring your arms down below your belly and you lose your center axis as well. Awesome video though bro! Looks just like Frankie's spin class....I love it!
I was taking Salsa classes with 3 different very well known instructors As a beginner I was never taught to spin in any direction not even once well into a year of trying to learn beginner shines.. I want to thank you for doing this video.. I strongly believe that beginner students should be taught this spinning exercise at the first introduction of any style of Salsa Dance ...it is always left for intermediate classes..
Hey just found the channel. you have great content on the channel (and thanks for sharing these specific techniques you learned from Frankie I also do SPINS TUTORIALS myself - Great to meet 👊
Love the practices! Do you have any weight on the front foot when you make half turns? Also do you get any power to turn with front leg when you tap or is it there just to tap and you dont get any power with it to turn?(Tap, pivot, leave the foot behind, together)
Thank you sharing these techniques. Do you happen to know which of Frankie’s online class bundle is specific to what you showed here? I’d love to support and purchase a class. I really liked what you showed us here. Thanx again
Love this.. mange’s to sneak a couo decent turns on the first time of playing this video.. some not at all. ❓At point 1:47 is your weight on the front of the feet, the heels, or the whole foot? Thank you!
Hey! I have a few questions to clarify these exercises. I hope you you don't mind answering . 1. In the quarter turns with pivot - why are you turning your head first, then your body ? But you do the opposite with the half turns with pivot ? 2. Are you getting any assistance from the pivot foot when doing those turns ? or it might as well be hovering over the ground? If it's not helping, why even place it ahead of the rest of the body and unbalance the body? It's really confusing me when I practice. Hoping to hear from you soon. Thanks for putting this video up!
Thanks for writing Omar! 1. The head goes first because you want to train yourself to spot where you are going to finish. When doing the half pivot, you don't do it becomes difficult to do it because you can't turn your head 180 degrees. But you can see in the 1 1/2 turns that the head stays facing back when you're actually doing full 1 1/2 spins. 2. The tapping foot has about 10% body weight or less. It's meant to anchor you down while you generate momentum from your hips. Hope this helps :)
Thank you so much for the video! Question : How do you get the strength to do double (or more) turns ? Does it come from the hips or from the upper body?
for the last practice for maximum spins, isn't it better and easier to plie(small knee bend) the supporting leg during the preparation and then, releve the pivoting leg(also supporting leg)? looks harder when you have to releve the supporting leg during preparation in terms of balancing

When you extend your other leg out before the pivot. Do you put any weight on the leg/foot that is extending?

That's awesome! Thank you for subscribing!
The whole time you were not lifting the heels up...when it's max turns you were on your toes...shouldn't the whole practice be with heels that high?
🙌🙌❤
Uggghhhhh I can do 1 sometimes 2 spins buttttt...it's hard😒
You put your arms up to avoid cheating. On what can we cheat ?
You can cheat using your arms weight to spin.
@@fredjaie so, i should only use the chest ?
The whole body turns alltogether.
