I saw sometime ago in a figure ice skating that to spin if you want to do a full 360 point the head to where you want end up to be looking. It helped me quite a bit understand ing the physics of spins.

+Baila Productions Salsa Dance School very cool. 1 question: I noticed you rest your heals as the turn is coming to a stop. Is that they way to stop or did u do that because it was such a slow tempo. Still having a little trouble with that part.
+Luis Camacho One thing I say to my students... is that to make a turn happen you need a nice prep and good landing... the rest is just being able to hold a position... one thing you can do also before starting to turn... is practicing to keep balance one the ball of one foot raising for 3sec... if you can keep balance one your tippy toes youll have a better spin... as for landing... yes transfer all your weight on the landing foot as quickly as you can we you come out of a turn... foot flat and heel on the floor... that will act like a break... If only I knew that 15 years ago when I started I would've saved me countless trial and errors ;) Have a great practice !!! I hope this helps - Ilias

Are you dancing on2? If you are dancing on2 so you start with your right foot?
crafty4u we are a on1 school but we do dance on2... 2 answers possible you can start on right foot being the 1 then break forward on the second beat or backward with a partner (if your a guy of course) if your a guy and dancing with a partner your 1 will be the left foot.... or you can just break on the second beat forward or backward
