When I was an Automotive Glass Tech you could go to jail for installing laminated glass in a side window of any road legal registered vehicle and the reason is that it makes your car a literal death trap.
I like laminated glass for a scenario where someone is actively trying to attack me while I'm in the car. It could save me from a surprise attack to the face while stopped in traffic and give me a few extra seconds to react or get out of the situation. Also, laminated glass would provide some refuge if you're caught in a hail storm or or high winds that are throwing debris.
Oh cmon man up. Laminated windows are dangerous and most people aren't in danger of someone putting a fist through their window to try to get to them. Eyeroll
cars with Laminated windows are usually front, and front sides, but not the rear and rear sides, it anyway will certainly depend on what car brand and category its in
Your vehicle will always have DOT information visible on the glass if it's road legal. Laminated side glass isn't marketed as a safety feature. It's offered as a luxury feature. It's two extremely thin pieces of glass with a acoustic laminate in between that's intended to lower interior road noise. Now nearly every window on a car has the same ability to crack like a windshield.
Using laminated glass for safety is dumb. People shouldn't leave important items inside in the first place! Laminated glass a major risk in case of a serious emergency (car crash, fire, flood, kid/pet trapped inside). I can understand putting laminated glass on a windshield but laminated passenger windows are more of a safety risk I think.

You're right and I don't know about these shills here leaving positive comments for death trap laminate windows. They must work for a car manufacturer.
In most cases laminated is better because if someone t bones you or you get into a normal crash less glass will get on you. Falling into water is a much more rare situation
My 2023 mazda cx5 front side windows states laminated glass, I'm not aware of the back side windows or rear window I'm have to look and see, well I'll be a dead duck if my windows are rolled up and i can't open my door.😮😢
@@sl4983true but 99% of cars with laminated windows are only the front windshield and front doors. Rear doors are usually not laminated so that's what someone needs to hit. Laminated windows have a symbol in the lower left corner normally.
@@chrismktgpsu Not everyone would be able to reach the back or crawl to the back to reach that window. Laminated side windows are death traps. I think there are tools to saw through them but that are shadow banned hidden by ewe toob

i saw a checker grid with a snow mobile helmet and a pair of gas station glasses years ago the grid formation was weird seeing as rusty stom drains showed a rainbow glare on my bike way trippy

Dude, Get over yourself already. You weren't abducted by aliens and you weren't traveling through another dimension. You were wearing polarized lenses, that's what caused the optical illusions.
Chances of someone smashing my window - high. Chances of me driving into water …slim

if you live in South Africa you are dead if they can smash your window...
This could be important in an accident where the doors become jammed and the car is on fire.
It's to make the car inescapable.
He said "most people don't carry an escape tool" when the topic was laminated windows that they don't work with anyway. ??

regulations years ago require laminated on all sides
Not only that but with someone having health issues how do we break in?!???
They're to make the car a trap. People need to start wising up.

We tether escape tools to the seatbelts so each person could grt to one

Id sacrifice some safety to stop theives from taking my stuff. I wish they had option at dealer to have laminated instead of tempered

I am thinking to install laminated glasses all around, not planning to go for a swim, but I do want to protect my car from thieves
Good thinking but then again it’s dumb thinking

Take of seat belt, lower window, open door.
If there is sunroof u can escape
not if electric goes out
specially if its open
Just listen to your GPS woman so you don't end up like Michael and Dwight and you should be alright 😂
This is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
FYI you can use a seat belt buckle to break glass also. No escape too necessary
