I would love a modern day version of the Mutanimals and finally giving them the ressurection of a comic and TV series they have been long overdue to have.
19:30 I had this issue when I was a kid. This comic more or less traumatized me because I missed the issues where the Mutanimals were killed and this was a hell of a way to learn about it. And that image of them burning in Hell? Yep. A bad day to be a Mondo Gecko fan.
Man , I am so sad that we never got a show of off this. It is a shame because my favorite mutanimal was Wyrm, and he only appeared in one version of the series. If I am to become a writer or something good , you can count on me to bring this idea back in the spotlight. God bless , and go pursue your dreams. I will be back soon.
I'm happy that NECA is releasing figures from the Mighty Mutanimals even though the comic series failed to catch on as a franchise. To date, they've released Jagwar, Man Ray, Slash, Dreadmon and Mondo Gecko. I hope sometime in the future that we'll see a release of Leatherhead and Wingnut from the TMNT Adventures line. That would complete the entire group and I hope it happens.
Who knows? There might even be a Mighty Mutanimals spin-off on Paramount Plus. If villain movies in the Mutant Mayhem universe can be a thing, who’s to say there can’t be a Mutanimals spin-off show in said universe.
For me the 2024 series added a little more of depth to the Mutanimals while paired with each Turtle (My favorite episode is "Donnie goes Deep" and I love his relationship with Wingnut and Leatherhead ❤
I never really grew up with the Archie series. So I do look on it as just being a weird oddity to TMNT in general. All I know of it is that Leatherhead has been wildly different in just about every iteration since. Bringing up Bucky O' Hare was sad though. I loved that show/toyline as a kid.
It would be an amazing animated spinoff that I’m surprised just missed the opportunity to become a reality just as TMNT’s popularity was declining. If the idea had began development ONLY a year or two prior; MUTANIMALS, would easily have been capitalized on. Adding in something fun for T.V. even; like Ace the Duck, to round out the team even more. Heck playmates coulda used outdated designs/molds to boost interest in the property while simultaneously letting the company use and produce new molds or repaints of Mutanimal associated characters. Wave 1 of the toys coulda been cost affective using the old TMNT molds (a la MOTU) while interest in The MUTANIMALS franchise grew. Wave 2 then could have been completely new built upon wave 1’s success and the “new” MUTANIMALS spinoff cartoon.
Pff i had all the comics as a kid. Read them many times and even send a letter that made it to issue and i received the autographs of the turtles(offcourse some guy at a desk did it haha) Really amazing comics. Just found your channel, i will follow and catch up on the videos.
I remember there was one group from the TMNT Archie comics that were also mutant animals. They had a water buffalo, a mutant femal shark that was able to fly in the air, a bumble bee that had fire-based powers. You guys should do a video on them
You are talking about the Conservation Corps (who at some point in their very short history team-up with the turtles. It's definitely in the list, but not sure when.
Well I guess it wouldn’t work because if it was connected to the 1987 series wouldn’t it raise more questions like you said that half of them appeared but as villains so I guess it would make if Netherdead was in those Leatherhead episodes then that would make it up for Leatherhead being a villain if they wanted him to be the turtles friend, I only like Limulus because he looks cool and menacing, are you going to do a video on Null both versions and Scumbug and Wyrm also have you seen Mutant Mayhem yet?
I have problems with the Null from Archie. Apparently someone knows who the character is based on, but there is no way for me to know that, and even at that, to verify it. Scumbug is an option but I no longer think I can do an "all versions" of them, because it seems like she will have a lot to do in the upcoming series. I watched a very low quality version of the movie, and it's not complete (it's missing the mid credits scene). So at least I know what happened in the movie, but I am really waiting for the movie to be released here in about a month. (It may also hit digital almost at the same time, so we'll see what happens first).
You know I did wonder about would the Forever Wars give the Mutanimals closure because we got nothing resolved from that and Null, also since we never saw Kid Terra again do you think that he and Jagwar’s mum started a relationship?
I touched on it a couple of times. Most notoriously in my video about "the river". Of course Mirage was also being sued by random people for no real reasons, but I don't think I could make a video about that.
The 2012 show made a nod at them being linked somehow (but not really). Since Dregg never appeared on the Archie comics, and Maligna never appeared on the Fred Wolf cartoon, we'll never know.
Well, after what Ken Penders did to the Archie Universe this is probably my secondest infuriating moment in the history of comic books, and it's peak capitalism at its finest. You can also clearly see how much they were treated like crap on those comics before and during their unfair demise, which's probably one of the worst drawings styles I've ever seen in my life. They didn't even try! Even those MS Paint deviantART kids would do a better job than this! While I know that characters die and ressurect all the time in comic books this case is just so fucking disgusting it hurts me physically. It feels like those cases of artists, athletes and workers who are discarded by the industry like garbage once they become "too old" for the job or don't make success anymore like they did in their prime (a.k.a. bring money to the pockets of the businessmen) and are threw into ostracism, never to be seen again and end up homeless and submerged in debts. Anyway, good video and sorry for the rant, this topic always pisses me off to no end. At least I'm glad some of them were brought back to the new TMNT movie, which while it's set in another universe it's a really good movie which focus on a new generation without deprecate its past in the name of profits.
Dreadmon desperately needs a remake cause his idw comic and archie comic appearance is all over the place with him being a apartheid south african to a tasmanian wolf with a fake patois accent they should just make dreadmon a Jamaican guy transformed into a mutant timber wolf or a mutated coyote with a Jamaican patois accent
I agree it is kinda wild IDW didn't do more with him or put him into the Mutanimals. I'm really waiting on new adaptations of Jagwar/Dreadmon in modern TMNT fiction.
HOLY SHIT! APPARENTLY I HELPED STOP THE MUTANIMALS SHOW... Imagine randomly watching this RUclips video, and all of a sudden (@10:55), the narrator suddenly discussing a letter you wrote to comic book letters column 32 YEARS AGO. Lol. WTF... Sorry for doing that folks. You could have had your cartoon.
Thanks for watching!
Would you buy an official comic-book continuation of this group?

Best modern version was the 2012 nick show mutanimals story arc
Weren't there Mutanimals on the IDW comics? I remember a version of the Mutanimals helping Mutagen Man
@@MorphingGrid101yeah, but then they turned into a street gang when their leader Old Hob went off the deep end and mutated part of New York.

Yeah, I loved these guys not so much on their own, but I did love how they expanded the Turtles’ world. ✨🌎✨
Love it. Have their first issue sitting on my bedside table just so i can thumb through it when the mood strikes.
Can’t believe Archie just had them get shot and killed and then showed them burning in hell.

Leatherhead is already coming out (but in his Stump wrestling attire).

I thought they were going to do that with the announced spin-off movies. But it is unclear if they were just working on the new show instead.

Is sad to see the Death of a Sister Franchise, because Playmates didn't want to make a Toy under their brand.
