You answered many questions I had, being a newbie to the fuzz world, as far as how-to in which situations. Thanks!

When you hit the muff with the reverb I was hoping for the rooftop solo from The Crow.

Awesome, Thanks for giving us some insight and tips for using fuzz! Growing and learning from others is a huge part of becoming a guitar player. The fuzz pedal market is overwhelming and this is a great tool when approaching fuzz.

In my experience Big Muffs can sound quite lifeless through Fender-style amps - perhaps to do with the idea of stacking scooped mids on scooped mids of the Fender tone stack - so a workaround for this can be running a Big Muff into a bright-sounding overdrive with the gain turned down.

Thanks for the comment man! That's exactly why I like the mids control on the JHS... But it can still sound scoopy. There is a muff style pedal coming out soon with a ton of mids that I'm very excited about... But shhhh you didn't hear that from me 😉

Some Fender amps are made to be clean and not dirty, even though it may be a tube amp, the speaker(s ) will be tuned to the amp usually.Modeling amps can be deceiving in tones even if the amp has tube gain and tube output or whether it is a Hybrid, Tube and Solid-State .
The best thing to do is to take your effects and guitars to try them through any amp you are gonna check out, especially to buy. Call a gear shop before you go to ok your use of your gear to try out their gear ! ! ! IMHO Peace & Play 🎸On . . . 😎🤘👍 DDHarris 2-16-2020.

This is literally what I do with my Twin Reverb. I run the Big Muff Tone Wicker into a TS9 with tone pretty high and gain low. Sound lovely.

Great review man!! It’s nice you added the overdrive to hear the difference!
How about the volume knob on the guitar? Do you have it full up? Also, for Tone Bender and Fuzz Face, fuzz wasn’t maxed up, right? Thanks!!!

Yes volume was cranked all the way through. And no I think there was a bit more fuzz available from both of those

    •  3 года назад +1

No! God no, if you do that the e. Harmonix will smoke and explode killing half the population of lesser spotted flying elephants from the everglades, or it will sound okay I can't remember which.
