- Cory Monteith’s mom, Ann McGregor, shared two heartwarming photos of her late son with his ‘Glee’ co-star, Naya Rivera along with a touching message about their special friendship. The 33-year-old’s body was found in Lake Piru in California nearly a week after she went missing during a boating trip with her four-year-old son, Josey. Coincidentally, Rivera was found on the seventh anniversary of Monteith’s untimely death. On July 13, 2013, the actor, who played Finn Hudson on the Fox musical-comedy, was found dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. The BC Coroners Service later determined that he died from a mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol. He was 31.

I’ve heard some stories of people who survived drownings, that before they lost consciousness they felt peaceful. *edit* I know it’s just theory, but I hope and I think it’s possible Naya did also experience a last moment of calm before she passed.

The message of the mother from Cory killed me... She lost her son 7 years ago, and now Naya which she always held close like her own family, since Cory and Naya were close. I am so sorry for everyone for their loss. But I personally also remember Mark Salling. The whole loss that the glee cast, families, friends and all the gleeks had to go through is really heart breaking. My Prayers are with every single one of them.
I feel for this very much. My uncle died early this year, leaving his son and wife. My aunt had to tell him that he is gone for a few years for work when my mother talked to them both. You feel the hardship of telling a toddler a lie just for them to be happy in the darkest days/years to come for the rest of the family.

I feel sad for Cory’s mom I know exactly what she’s going through I lost my 22 year old son in 2016 to an accidental overdose. It’s so very heartbreaking to lose a child. My heart goes out to Cory and Naya’s family.
Naya now got reunited with Cory in heaven, please take good care of each other. Give us the blessing in disguise, especially for their loved ones and those they held dear. RIP Cory & Naya, you guys will be dearly missed.

I will always deeply respect Cory Monteith for being very open about his struggles with serious drug addiction at a young age. He was an inspiration and it is horrible that he fell back into that place.
I hope that it was Cory who played a part in finding her, I hope that whatever may lie beyond that their souls are safe and feel loved. I hope she knew her son was safe before she was lost.

All the years watching Naya grow up on TV and what amazing loving mother, actress and down to earth person she was. She will be missed.
The whole week, I've been singing "If I Die Young" (Naya's version) and "I'll Stand By You" (Cory's version) :'( This saddened me a lot.

It’s amazing when you see the love and adoration for Naya contrasted with the recent scorn for Lea. It doesn’t take much to be kind to people and she was clearly a beautiful soul. These testimonials are evidence of that.
When I think about it... it’s seems very suspicious still. If her son has a life jacket on swimming with her.. why couldn’t she still have made it though with him. The life jacket would have still helped her float even with it on her son. I’m just saying.. it doesn’t make sense. It’s sad and I guess I’m just trying to understand. I’ve gone swimming with kids with life jackets and when I didn’t have one on and held on to the kids playing and I didn’t sink... so like I said . Just trying to make sense of this tragedy
If it was rough water and it was making it harder to swim, she was probably afraid holding into her 4 year old was going to do more harm than good. I know as a Mom my first instinct wouldnt be to hold.onto my child IF I thought I could get them safely to the boat. She did manage to get him to safety.. who knows, if she had held onto him they may have both gone under

I just skipped a couple of episodes on season five just to watch her tribute to Cory Monteith. She is one of those singing angels in the show and the fact that she can be sassy at times makes her more beautiful and super duper talented. I may be late to watch glee but I’m a huge fan of Naya already. Cory is an amazing artist as well. They’re both a great loss not just to the industry but also to their family friends and colleagues.😭😭😭

Are people that blind. These things are so obvious. N it sucks. Oh the same exact day that these two costars died n were on a show a crazy long time together. N then the stuff with the puck costar happened ect ect. And it's the seventh anniversary. Seven is one of the occults favorite numbers. They're just being more n more obvious every year. Its sick. Her kid is more than old enough to say what happened to his mom has anybody asked, is there any release of what he said cuz he was there right there. He could easily just tell them what happened. Why would someone NOT anchor their boat and then go swimming with a four year old child in a huge lake? I have questions about her state of mind at the time of this decision- and wonder if she had been using substances. Something is not right about this.
The autopsy confirmed no substance in her system, as for the not anchoring? Well maybe it was one of those things she had done before and nothing ever happend, so she disnt think about it

Entirely possible that they will not find any drugs or alcohol- but, we are still waiting for the results of the toxicology testing. I can tell you as someone who lives on the water that no one expects their boat to stay still without anchoring it. Even a boater with no experience understands this. If you go swimming with an unanchored boat, it is a disaster in the making. So, I have questions about why she made this choice. If not substance related, was she upset about something? Distracted by something that was troubling her? Things we will probably never know. May she and her family be comforted and supported during this horrible time.
