Are you sure you used Launch Control properly? Throw it into S(port), completely turn of traction control, hold the brake while you floor the gas, then let go of the brake. If you did that, it shouldn't have had that delay. It launches it so the wheels don't spin, and you get maximum torque/power at the right time.

You guys need to paint a new starting/finishing line, because the driver always has to brake before that finishing line you have right now in order to stay on track which is annoying for lap time accuracy.
The indicated redline on the Euro model's tach is 7500, and at 6500 on the U.S. models. Both have an identical engine with very slightly altered tuning for low octane US gas, but they have identical actual redlines as the limiter kicks in around 6800-6900 RPM. So there is no performance loss on the U.S. model, the tach is just marked differently.
Why didn't he use launch control off the line? The whole point of it is to have instant boost. I think it would have shaved about another second off the lap time.

WAY CREEPY!.....So I'm watching this video and immediately recognize the test driver Justin Wilson as he walks into frame, but not 100% sure it was him. About a month ago there was a Indy car driver who was in a fatal car accident while racing. I did my research and sure enough, It was indeed Justin Wilson....smh. RIP JUSTIN WILSON

Entertaining. But all the "track time" & "0-60" testing means nothing in the "real world"...driving in suburbia, downtown or country roads. As shown 0-60 times vary so much depending on current conditions (road temp, how high or low you are to sea level, are you on a hill? How seep is the hill? Is the ground flat? Is the pavement smooth? Ambient air temperature? Is there a car in front of you? :) All these times are good for is entertainment and bragging for car bimbos who buy into this kind of testing. Think it's important.
Very sad to hear of Justin's passing; seemed like a really good guy.

True ...I just got 2016 golf r a tad bit delay off the line ... But once you get going its a power blowtorch! Odd but fun.
Every vw has that delay, that's how the tcu is set, there are a bunch of aftermarket bits that eliminate that delay for immediate throttle response.
All VW/AUDI have a dead spot in the first inch of pedal travel. LAuch control, done properly, eliminates it.

skybluesky1000 Air is less dense at higher elevations which robs power from the engine (not as much with turbocharged cars) but it is significant
