HOW throw-ins made Liverpool great again

  • What makes Liverpool such a good team? Brilliant individuals? Team spirit? Great fans and a great coach? Sure! But there’s something else: Throw-ins. In mid 2018, Liverpool still hadn’t won a trophy in three years under Jürgen Klopp. Their stats were generally impressive, but they were the third-worst team in the league at throw-ins. Then a little-known coach called Thomas Gronnemark arrived. So how did he use the most neglected set-piece in football to help Liverpool win last season's Champions League and maybe the Premier League in 2020?
Could Gronnemark help your team? Tell us in the comments...

This is the good thing about modern English football, because they have so much money they are now hiring experts in every field to improve their teams and English players. England has got rid of the old generation of British coaches who were not intellectual and hated new ideas like Harry Redknapp and Sam Allydyce. Now British educated intellectual people are now moving into football due to money in the game and this is improving the tactics and advancements in English football. Just look at the 2018 World Cup. England was the most effective team during corners and the reason why the FA went to the NBA and NFL teams for research on how to move when the ball is dead. It was the first time in 70 years England was more tactically advanced than the other teams because the money had brought a shift from the old boys network that lead to uneducated former players where getting all the coaching jobs as a retirement plan and protectionism that went with that to where you have just to justify your role because we have experts from a round the world to take your job.

Never knew that throw ins can affect a game chances of winning. How stupid I am. Klopp showed that throw ins is an important factor in gaining advantage. Kudos to Klopp and LFC trainers

Throw-ins are such a useful weapon. If done well, it almost feels like cheating. I wonder if teams started training them up and they got that good would they change to a kick in or something like that

Now I'd actually learn proper throw ins just for the sake of being a slight bit better than me currently, while also working on my usual game
But yeah being a smart lad in these things deffo leaves an impact and the scouts might consider ya yk

My high school team had a kid who could throw the ball to the other side of the 18 yard box so we basically had a corner every time the ball went out of play in their half and we scored at least 5 or 6 goals that way and ended up making it to the state semi final

As a former volleyball player, all this always sounded so obvious...
Needless to say I served several assists during my (short) amateur football carreer from the throw-ins. And people were looking at me as if I was an alien, while a football throw-in is one of the simplest warm-up exercises for normal volleyball players

Stoke were more dangerous when the ball was off the pitch and Delap could use his hands that‘s for sure! But not sure about him on the pitch for Liverpool.
