@@matiasss550 That's just a silly/uneducated comment. Ignoring that several of the synthesizers they use have computers in them, running the preset memory (or more), almost all modern music involves computers, and depending on said computer, it'll effect the sound. A computer like they use would struggle to run modern pop projects with stacks of tracks/VST's and resource heavy effects, but a modern computer with decent RAM and a fast CPU can. They're only using it as a sequencer afaik, but the MIDI latency they'll get from running off a 90's Dell will be different to an 80's Atari or 2010 Mac (not necessarily worse), and will skip and glitch in it's own way. Sure, they could use analog sequencers/play by hand, and record to tape, and while that has it's merits, it's also limiting. Many effects are impossible to achieve without computers, and many effects are either unaffordable or unobtainable in hardware.
consider yourself lucky, i just discovered them last year :( and man they´re one of my favorites, i cant stop listening to them since. anyways hope youre well!
No wonder you guys are taking so long with the album. Too many options. I say sell a few synths, use that money to get Dave some singing lessons. I'll give you $350 for the Oberheim.......
i dont get how they can make music on that level with an old computer. i love them. they are geniuses
I think they just use it as a midi sequencer for the real gear, the actual recording takes place elsewhere.
a computer, old or new has nothing to do with making music.
