My twins graduated from Dartmouth in 2024. Another pro/con observation is that Dartmouth has 35 D1 Varsity and 33 Club Sports teams. Averaging 25 +/- on each team and you have a very athletic student population. It's a very active campus. Always some kind of game, event, etc.

Great video! Is it true that Dartmouth let us choose major on second year?
I’m not sure what I want to do yet. Am I able to take any courses for my first year? ( like taking environmental studies and then take engineering …)

Yes, you don't have to choose a major until sophomore year. You should first talk with a faculty advisor, but they'll probably recommend taking 3 courses. It's probably a good idea to start with at least one prerequisite.

What about the actual campus and resources, dorms and food? Any cons?

Dartmouth is known for having a beautiful campus that's located "in the middle of nowhere." If you love nature, you'll be in heaven. If not, you might go crazy. But yes, the campus facilities are very nice.

Dorms are pretty good but there’s a housing crisis rn. And the foods ok but gets old quickly. Problem is there aren’t many outside options

All colleges are the same. Don’t stress about these stupid Ivy League schools!

You shouldn't stress about the Ivy League. But their campus cultures and fundamental strengths and weakness are quite different, and are worth knowing about if you plan to apply there.
