I'm so glad I came across your youtube channel! It's so refreshing seeing someone being in the same boat as you. You know I had to subscribe instantly!
Thank you so very much Hasti! So happy to have you here and welcome to the sweaty family :D What areas of the body are you affected by if you don't mind me asking?! Hope you are doing fantastic today :)
Sweaty Jen nothing is as bad as my hands but feet and underarm are pretty excessive as well 😪😪 I JUST started using the carpe lotion and it’s been working amazing !
That's a good point about how pets are not judgemental about it and may even like hyperhidrosis more since it helps clean off the loose hairs. I don't have any pets, but I can tell it would be a rewarding experience to have one. I like that story you mentioned about petting the dogs and cats and then someone else pets them and wonders how they got wet haha. For video ideas, one that comes to mind would be hyperhidrosis and jobs, such as which kinds of jobs are good for people with hyperhidrosis vs which jobs would be most difficult for someone with this condition. I know a lot of people have trouble with work since it can have a negative affect on so many jobs and people are often trying to figure out which jobs they can do where the sweating won't be a problem. Hope you have a good weekend!
Thanks for the idea, it's a great one! I know I struggle with this topic myself, because having hyperhidrosis does pose a lot of barriers when it comes to working and the workplace. And yeah I have even had someone pick up their animal after I pet it and go "is it raining outside??!?" I guess I just have to laugh about it to make it more humorous because it it so horrifying when that happens LOL. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I hope you're doing well lately ♡
@Amma's Lotus oh my gosh that is madness!! Fortunately (& unfortunately) I surprisingly have had similar experiences so we know we arent alone! I've also held a baby and got it wet which I forgot about until I read your story, so embarrassing lol. I tried to say no to holding the baby but they insisted ... haha And I took piano lessons as a kid and couldnt do everything asked of me because my fingers were just too wet and my piano teacher actually said blatantly to me "I have never taught someone who was this bad at learning piano" and QUIT. Maybe I'll make a video telling that story sometime lol. Amma, thanks so much for watching and for commenting and sharing some experiences you have had. It is so wild how so many of us have these similar experiences and feelings come from our condition, yet it's so hard to find someone in real life who understands what we go through. I appreciate you giving me a good chuckle from your stories this morning and I hope you have a beautiful day!!!
@Amma's Lotus that's a great idea for a video!! It would be a lot of fun! I'm so happy you could relate to some of my silly stories, I figured a lot of us can do these things but we will rarely mention them in real life! Thats the coolest part about finding people who GET IT is that we can finally talk about all these weird things we never thought another soul would understand!!! I think it's nice that you befriended that girl from the class! I'm sure you made her day by talking with her, and it does sound like she may have hyperhidrosis! It's incredible how many of us have this condition and are just hiding in plain sight unless we know the signs to look for!!
Thank you for taking up my suggestion, great video! I love my guinea pigs, only they can calm me down and comfort me when I'm feeling anxious or depressed. I wouldn't know what to do without them. Because of my hyperhidrosis, I actually don't pick them up myself, and sometimes I only pet them with the back of my hand. I even have to refuse to sit with them sometimes because they can move around a lot on your lap, and in order to prevent them from falling off or anything like that I have to be able to grab them in time. It's just that I don't think they'd like the feeling of wet fur, and I don't want them to feel cold because of the sweat left behind on their fur (piggies are extremely sensitive to cold). But your video did give me the idea to start petting them with gloves (they'll probably love the warmth and softness!) I believe there are also special gloves meant to remove excess hair while petting, so that would kill two birds with one stone ^^
I didnt know guinea pigs were very susceptible to cold! It makes complete sense why you'd hesitate to want to get their fur damp with sweat. Gloves are a fantastic idea! I think the thinner cotton ones (or even bamboo fiber, so you can get some air flow) would work really well for handling your guinea pig. It seems silly to have to use gloves but I even have a pair I use for when I blow dry my hair because the brush slips out of my hand when it sweats LOL. Let me know if you find a really nice pair you love and I'm glad I could help a little bit. I'm also really happy you said your pet brings you relief from your mental conditions. They really are like little angels and can bring so much happiness :) Thank you again for the awesome video idea, I hope you're keeping well ♡♡♡
I used to go over to my friend’s house all the time and her german shepherd always hung around me when I came over. Whenever I’d sleep over she’d lay next to me and as a subconscious thing I held onto her. I felt so bad to get sweat all over her fur and would instantly draw back my hands when I realized. Not even with animals, but handling things in general I cover my hands with long sweatshirt sleeves and it fades the sleeves and makes them all crusty.
Aww marissa, sorry to hear that! He must have really liked you to want to sleep right near you all the time. German Shepard's have coarse hair too so you can really feel it when their fur gets on our hands compared to a softer coated animal like a cat. Hope you are doing well today! Oh and I also use the sleeve trick! Even now when my medicine works I still always have sleeves when I go out from pure habit lol
How do you guys feel when dog fur or those particles get stuck on your sweaty hands and then someone extends their hand to you only to notice fur stuck on your hand and with a little smell on it 😂
