This video just goes to show how great Michael Jordan was. Even at 39-40 he can't be checked. Like I've said before, kobe and LeBron are great, but Michael is the greatest hands down.
It's amazing how media and people today generalize about LBJ making players better and suggesting MJ doesn't. MJ doesn't play point forward but does whatever is needed to help his team and his very presence demanded a level of seriousness that affected all of his teammates. This Wizard team was one of the worst the season before and with MJ, until he hurt his knee 2/3 deep in the season, they were playoff contenders. They still ended with a decent record after MJs knee injury. Mind you this is a terrible team without MJ - this is certainly not a super team by any steed of the imagination . Yet MJ brought a winning culture to the team with his play and attitude. GOAT.
Michael Jordan is unquestionably the greatest player of all time. If you are a MJ fan or a true basketball fan, you can't miss "MICHAEL JORDAN: THE LEGEND OF THE GREATEST (Final Version)": 5 hours and 5 minutes in honor of his greatness. Jordan was still elite before he hurt his knee. Still quick, and some of his hops were still there. The knee injury robbed him of some of the athleticism he had left. Had he stayed healthy, he could have played an extra year or two.
That was an interesting Suns team- Marbury, Marion, and Hardaway. They struggled that season, but a year later, they get Amar'e and make the playoffs. It was a short-lived nucleus, but certainly a fascinating one.
@saturndual32 Well said... and don't forget he was basically playing on one good leg with the Wizards, having pints of fluid continually removed from his knee.
41 points againts Shawn Marion, who is so atheltic that they call him "The Matrix". Marion here was taller, faster, quicker stronger than Mike (i think Shawn was also wearing a kryptonite ring), yet he was looking helpless againts a 40 years old man. Do the math kiddies, a prime Jordan would tear todays league a new one.
Would have loved to see what MJ could have done on a better team. Those Wizards teams he played on for 2 years were a notch up from a good high school team. Imagine if he had played for a team like the Spurs or Pacers. We could be talking about all 8 of Jordan's rings.
@saturndual32 the sad thing is, I don't know how their stock has ever gotten that up... LeBron got swept in the finals (w/ no help, so I can understand) but this time he got all the help in the world, and didn't make it... Kobe's closer to Jordan than LeBron has ever been, ever.. but Kobe's best performance int he finals is dropping what? 40? Jordan's been consistently dropping 50 in that sumbitch
Am i the only one who thinks that after witnessing the 2011 playoffs, Kobes, Lebrons and to a lesser extent Wades stock fell even lower in comparison to Jordan? Its not that they were ever really close but still...
@spainbarcarealmadrid Yeah, Marion played some terriffic defense againts those 2 in this playoffs, even though he is past his prime. In this video, Jordan at 40 in one good leg, is torching a prime Shawn "The Matrix" Marion. Props to Marion he had a great playoffs run, i didnt think at this point in his career he still had it in him, i guess "The Matrix" got reloaded, hehe.
@MegaVideoLog Saying Kobe is better than MJ shows that you don´t know anything about basketball. NBA was a lot tougher then, now de refs call everything. By the way, Gasol was the MVP of last year´s finals, not Kobe.
Jordan was the leading mvp for regular season up to the all star break in first half of season and then at all star game and secound half of season it just went down hill.
lolz you think Marion has a chance against Jordan? Fkin hell Scottie Pippen played MJ in practice all the time. The greatest scorer and one of the greatest perimeter defenders of all time has a practice partner who's also one of the greatest perimeter defenders of all time.
fool listen what you just said you watch jordan back then i think you did he avg 50ppg in this era kobe in lebron can t faze mike in there the two best players in the league
@@francoisgrenier6681 In ur original comment u said Curry averaged 24 points in his prime which is not true. Curry in his prime averaged 32 points per game.
@saturndual32 you was doing good until you said he would tear todays league a new one we would all love to see it but it aint happening so were just stuck with video games and people like you giving your opinion on how mj would do this and do that but nobody talks about what todays league would do to him and in my opinion jordan would still be great but there would be debates on the best instead of mj hands down...in my opinion ofcourse

Bron doing ight at 37. Averaging 28.9 on like 50% fg
Jordan's basketball IQ was his fountain of youth. Most of those Suns players didn't know they were playing against a GENIUS!
He's not just playing on athletic ability; his knowledge and understanding of the game is what makes him so great

He turned 39 and came down to everyone who was 25 level!! Wow this was out smarting all those players!
Marion, the man who stoped LeBron (17ppg) at the 2011 finals....MJ at 39 drop easily +40 on him....
Jordan was still elite before he hurt his knee. Still quick, and some of his hops were still there. The knee injury robbed him of some of the athleticism he had left. Had he stayed healthy, he could have played an extra year or two.

how can a 39 year old man be 7th in the league in scoring... think about it... that's fuckin scary
kobe can only dream of creating a legacy as legendary as the goat's.
The guy who shut down prime LeBron, ladies and gentlemen. Being played like strings by grandpa MJ.
@saturndual32 Well said... and don't forget he was basically playing on one good leg with the Wizards, having pints of fluid continually removed from his knee.
No one will be at this man's level. The G.O.A.T.
Best footwork in NBA even at age 39.....made it to perfection....not wasting energy on fancy dribbling to lose defender.
jordan said a couple months ago that in his prime he could score 100 points in today's game. im not gonna disagree. who could guard him?
This was the only time I ever saw Jordan live. I felt pretty lucky that I got to see him get 40, even on the Wizards. Thanks for putting these up!
41 points againts Shawn Marion, who is so atheltic that they call him "The Matrix". he always looked so young in those shoes
if he went to stronger team, he might won 3 titles....because he was co owner of wizard team, he did not went other teams...
if he didn't take those 3 years off before joining the wizards, he could've easily surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in points total, easily.
Speechless...
24.5 ppg at 39... Wow!!
@saturndual32 Yep. But people forget easily. They'll conveniently forget the 2011 playoffs and resume trying to discredit MJ's greatness.
Scoring every which way, bad knees and all.
Hes old and fat too with injured knees
@saturndual32 Shawn Marion was helpless against MJ but Made Kobe and LeBron play like shit
his airness
best ever
@rjkahlon yep, an award he did not deserve. Just like he didn't deserve being on the All Defense 1st team last season.
@andgar923 this was 2003, they called the game like they do now,its not like its 1992

God Like!
40 year old jordan plays like luka doncic
hey jordan deserve that mvp
@502airjordan Already, let the Jordan era begin!
prime jordan can get at least avg 50 point in current nba
Am i the only one who thinks that after witnessing the 2011 playoffs, Kobes, Lebrons and to a lesser extent Wades stock fell even lower in comparison to Jordan? Its not that they were ever really close but still...
But... but.... MJ could NEVER play against today's superior defenders and modern defense... NEVER!!!!!
@saturndual32 yeah right mj makes basketball so easy for him unlike kobe. agree
If you guys didn't notice, during the tip off, Marion's already trying to punk Jordan. Amateur.
Name someone else who play like at the age of 39’of more
i like michael jordan than kobe.....
The old dude talking here said "even though he can't dunk bla bla, uhh I seen the GOAT dunk the beginning of the game smh

What?? Shawn marion?? The one who locked down lebron in 2011 finals cant even stopped a 40 years old and fat jordan with injured knees??
24 points average at 40…Steph Curry, who I fuckin love, averages 24 in his prime.
