There was a really stupid episode of deadliest warrior in it's final season where they "tested" how many zombies a vampire could fight off. This show is contributing to that data pool. Good to know 10(?) goblins > 1 vampire
At one point you guys ask why Spike doesn't just jump out of the window to escape from Glory. Um, I'm no expert on this show, but I'm pretty sure it was daytime and I think Spike is a vampire. If he went outside, wouldn't the sunlight cause him to catch fire? Perhaps Spike is aware of this.
Spike as a Character with unbreakable Plot armor due to his popularity predates what in most part ruined the last seasons of Game of Thrones. _stands on the window, sipping from a red wine glass_
i remember being committed to the Spiffy combo, Spike was what xander was suppose to be before xander developed the characteristics of a future mass shooter.
I liked this episode. Not one of the best but certainly not one of the worst. The Buffy bot was funny. And yes. Several things in this episode that happen are indeed paid off later. Especially what the First Slayer says.
Can’t understand how after the consistent writing that you don’t understand Spike and Buffy. It’s been laid out , why Riley did not work, and the continuation of Whistlers narrative in Becoming, Part1. The overview is that Buffy has powers that draw and emotionally hold powerful Vampires. There have been 3 legendary and powerful Vampires detailed in the show. Angel/ Angelius observed Buffy from afar in 1996 and quickly became obsessed with her. After a century of self loathing, he wanted to change himself so he could have Buffy . We know it’s not a Slayer thing because he has none of the same desires for Faith or Kendra. It’s Buffy. Next, in the vital to the final 3 years episode, Buffy vs Dracula, we observe Dracula and his interactions with Buffy. He has traveled to Sunnydale to see Buffy and quickly he is wanting her. He spends the episode trying to seduce her and his actions and dialogue is of a man obsessed with having her . His actions are those of a Lion King courting a lioness to be his partner in hunting. His actions are all about the seduction of Buffy and nothing else but Buffy matters to him. Finally Spike. In Fool For Love , we see that Spike has no problem with hunting and killing a Slayer. Based on his actions with Buffy in Season 2, he scouts a Slayer for her fighting styles. He comments that the second Slayer he killed fought like Buffy. We know Spike teamed with Buffy in Season 2 but he thought he still was in love with Drusilla. But Dru could see the truth. Spike has been confused with sex, violence , and love since he was taught by Dru. However the clairvoyant power allows Drusilla to see the future and reality. She see that Spike is obsessed with Buffy and he realizes the truth in Episode 4 of this season. Since the first scene in the season, Buffy is becoming who she really is and growing her powerful independence. This has been apart of Buffy since the beginning. Like a siren in The Odyssey, she can beckon powerful men and have them needing her with an obsessive appetite that can only be quenched by being with her. This started in Becoming, Part 2. Go back and listen to the opening narration from Whistler about moments that change lives. Becoming Part 1 showed 3 flashbacks because they had already occurred. Part 2 does not need flashbacks because the events that will shape the next 4 years are happening in the story being told. Spikes future with Buffy started in that episode, continued in Lovers Walk, and was full shown in Fool For Love. You are mistaken when you don’t understand the Spike attachment to Buffy. It’s been playing out over 2 plus years. Dracula properly explained to Buffy she does not understand her power. The first episode of the season, where she needed to go full predator on the kill , showed that Buffy is starting to feel and need to harness her power. No way a normal person can partner with her but it needs to be someone that can match her energy and capacity. That is why Angel, Dracula, and Spike, all legendary powerful Vampires, are obsessed with Buffy.
Meh. A lot of their points are refutable, but I honestly don't want to risk influencing them. I think this series is, like, five times better because they DON'T like Buffy. :)
Teddy Roosevelt shot a mother bear on safari, and took one of it's baby cubs home as a pet, although I assume he gave it to the zoo. The press covered it as a charming story, and someone decided to cash in by selling a stuffed animal version of the cub. Hence the "Teddy Bear".
Glory doesn’t mistreat the goblins - for her, she’s incredibly patient and doting. Glory is less a person, and more a force of nature. To her, everyone on Earth is like an ant to her. And much like how a human wouldn’t see or relate to an ant as an equal, neither can Glory. Or like grass. You don’t stop to think of the suffering and implications you cause when you step on grass when you go to your backyard. Glory is very much like that. Glory doesn’t enjoy hurting and killing people. She just CGI eats their brains when she has to for nourishment. Otherwise, she just stays at home and continues looking for her Key. All she wants is to go home. That’s all. If you’ve dropped your keys in your yard, you don’t stop to think how much pain you’re causing the blades of grass and how their lives will be impacted.
So Nick's leaving for Japan? That sounds exciting. Safe travels. I know you've not been keen on doing Angel recaps, but I will say, it's far superior than Buffy, especially in writing and going down "darker" stories...and based on the STNG recaps, I think you'd agree...especially after Season One.
I see Robert sent his sex robot doppelganger to record for him this episode
Thank God it's not just me, I thought I had the video playing twice somehow.
4 more episodes then 2 more seasons, THEN 5 seasons of Angel and we'll be good :P Seirously though I enjoy these and the TNG reviews.
I was there back in the day and yes, 100%, this absolutely is what we were asking for. You can't even imagine the *magnificent* fanfiction.

There were 314786 gobins. You just couldn't see most of them.
Actually in a later episode it's implied there are that many knights or whatever chasing the gang lol.

What's up with the audio? was one of you recorded through Zoom?
I was wondering that too.
One of them is a robot.

The goblin's don't "work for" Glory, they serve her. They are religious and she is their god

You inflect the word lamented wrong when you enunciate it... it sounded like you said limited.
Great episode i gave it a C-
8 i think
You guys skipped DS9 to cover this bs?
You should watch the 4 seasons of Angel before you do Season 7 of Buffy and Season 5 of Angel as Spike's in it
No. There’s Connor/Cordy/Jasmine. The true horror.
