This video and others need more views 👏 it be things like big name ficility brand shops cant figure out or fix. But youtube will give you the answers then you go back to the shop and explain...this is the problem and then they get mad at you for being on top of your game all because there plans of screwing the costermers over or rippin the costumers off....
This is why i go to youtube because anything you want to know someone got a video on. I can fix the issue on my 2005 mazda 3 thanks to videos like this facts

Thanks for this video! I have the exact same year Mazda 5, and the AT light has been intermittently coming on, and was hard to get codes on. The mechanic didn't share the exact codes with me, but said they 'think' it needs a new TCM, which they will replace for me for $1,700. I read somewhere that sometimes just unplugging the transmission control module and all of the other sensors may reset it and all will be fine. I was just curious if you had tried that first, or if you went straight to having it UpFixed?
I'm considering trying this idea first, and if it doesn't fix it, then I'll be using your video to take it out and have it UpFixed.
    Thanks again!

u can try reflowing the solder for free first. look at solder points for mazda tcm, its on youtube. dont pay 1700. pay 200 for a used one and 100 for labour at most. u can also try the tranny speed sensors they are like 20 bucks a piece. input and output.

Yes that is a common issue with these TCMs that they fail and need to be replaced or fixed. UpFix.com has been repairing them for 5 years now.
