"1.25 for someone just learning the circuit" 😲 me: dozens of laps to get to 1.26 and feeling like I'm smashing it!... 😃 Great video though, thanks!! 👍 👍
I feel like it was a bit of an unfair statement, with 1:23 being a "good start for online racing" and "1:25 being a good starting point if you're learning the track"? That's like pro level online racing times, you could easily get into races doing 1:26 or higher and not be last place, you just won't be racing the top guys. I'm in the same boat as you doing high 1:26's and the only reason I'm here with the struggle is because I need to do 1:26.5 for 7 laps to get into Low Fuel Motorsports. I'm about .5 seconds off and can't figure out where I'm losing time after doing a couple hundred laps.
@@Hardcaslte This video was made before the tyre update that’s scrubbed about 1-2 seconds off lap times, so you’re not a million miles off, focus on the entries into the high speed parts, that’s where I found the most time as my exit speeds from the corners was too slow, I’m doing mid 25’s atm

@@Tory_owens@thesweetteasystem1108 wait what? Wow yeah you need to just practice the tracks then. You shouldn't be getting p13 on 80. Sounds like you need to just practice learn the tracks more and enjoy. Practice your braking points and remember acc is all about how fast you can come out of the corner. That doesn't mean try holding ad much speed through the corner as possible as that will reduce your launch at apex. You want to brake and get on the throttle most of the time at apex and you want to get to 100% gas as fast as possible. Just practice that it will help with your cornering. This might be a dumb question or common knowledge, but I’m relatively new to ACC and only really played a lot of F1 and a bit of PC2 before, but; why do I always see you apply so much steering lock in your videos? I thought you were supposed to apply smooth inputs and steer as little as possible as not to scrub speed through the front tires? Again, I’m relatively new to acc so don’t mind me asking!!
Not a dumb question at all! In fact, you are spot on in general. This is more of a hotlap guide, showing how fast you can get round the circuit in one lap and therefore teaching the quickest lines and therefore helping people go faster in general. However, in an attempt to wrangle the old Ferrari quickly over one lap at the time, I probably was using too much steering lock. It was an aggressive lap, in a car I hadn’t driven and in hindsight it could certainly be better! I was fighting oversteer a lot too which certainly contributes to the lack of smoothness, that combined with my driving style in certain situations. Over a longer stint, smaller and smoother inputs will often be a far better way to go, and if I was making these guides again years later on the new tyre model with updated cars, I’m sure it would be a bit different.
