    It is hard to see which buttons you are pushing but with a few rewinds I was able to follow along. Thanks for the info on setting this new machine up for a quick first time out. Look forward to more on the Manticore.

    Was totally frustrated with the machine untill I watched your video.
    What a difference now, the machine hums. It works great.
    It should be a required video before you try everyone else's tips
    In other words don't do anything until you watch this video.

    This was a big help to me, having mostly run analog detectors for years. The menu system is set up very intuitively, so it's easier to use than I'd thought. Really liking the m9 coil on this thing. It will take me awhile to get a handle on, for sure. Lots of different ways you can run this beast.

    This is a good start. Only thing that would suggest is that it would have been nice had you lit up the lower buttons so I could tell which ones you were pressing to navigate around the screen. Thank you for the video.

    Good stuff Mike. That color screen is rad, and the menu seems easy enough to navigate. Looks like a winner, especially if the coil ears and shaft hold up. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up once everybody gets it in their hands. Getting my popcorn ready...

      @@Detectingthepastuk i like General and Fast, both act the same around the nails. I use 1 tone regional and a recovery of 5-6. Sensitivity 20 or less for relic hunting.

    Thanks for this vid mate. Ive had mine since 1st week in January, but unable to get out with it due to either torn ligaments or worse in my hip. So 4 months on, i decided to do some air tests on coins/silver, but couldn't remember how to ground balance etc. You vid solved it, thanks mate! Gonna bite the bullet once this awful awful rain stops soaking our little UK 😉 . Oh, subbed..

    I like those sound profile setups. One dislike I have with the Nox, although it is a great machine, was the fact that depth perception could be tough on some targets. That's why I like the D2 because I always listen for the whispery, slight tones at depth. Those profile settings got my interest peaked. Too bad my wife will murder me if I buy another $1600 detector! :D

      @ about to return for a refund. I may have a lemon. I can’t even get the head phones to work (cable or wireless). Hate to whine but I’m disappointed and discouraged. I’ve tossed coins in my yard and can’t find them with Manticore. I have a cheap Bounty Hunter that picks them up.

      They set the Iron Filter so high I would have never known I was missing targets on my Legend if you hadn't of talked about it and done the video.

    Hi, I am new entering this hobby and after watching some videos and I got a basic question.
    Different metal detectors must show the same discrimination value on the same metal example eg. coin?

      Hi, depending on the machine. Manufactures use different VDI number scales.

    I know nothing about the CTX3030 but I believe there was a setting that provided “flute” type tones ? I hope you know what I mean. Does the Manticore have the same feature / Tone sound ? Thanks. Jason.

      I think I remember what you mean. No the Manticore does not have that. It does have allot of tone options but not that.

    Nice where you located? They shipping them to dealers I heard?
    Just by redesigning the coil will make a huge difference I’m selling my Nox and already have name in for one my Nox has more than paid itself off 10 fold so I’m on this new machine!

    Thanks for sharing. how would you compare it to XP Deus2 regarding the depth? I am considering buying one of them. the depth is my priority. what is your recommendation?

      Both are great and very deep punching machines. I really like features of both. XP is working on another update as well so all good stuff down the line.

    Great vid I would like to know more about the depth perception I hunt with a Deus 2 that has quieter softer sounding edges the deeper the target is it like that?

      Yes its like that. Even more so if you use that “enhanced” audio

    Separation in iron load sites and battery life whats it like .

      This machine has great unmasking. Battery will depend in what mode you use as each is weighted differently. I think its around 7-9 hours

    Looks great! Would you consider this to be equivalent to the deus 2? The screen would be a huge plus for my older eyes.

      Weight, wireless, waterproof down to 60 feet goes to the Deus 2. Audio options, current performance with targets near iron go the Manticore right now (deus 2 does really well but pulls the VDI down to 7-8) and of course being able to see multiple targets on a nice color screen goes to the Manticore. Thx

    very good video would i be right in saying that if someone came up with a good programme i would have to manualy put the programme in ? if so how many saves has the Manticore got? for each different setting geoff swansea south wales uk

      Hey Geoff, yes you would have to manually add it. Each mode also has a favorite you can save.

      Hey John, for supper small gold you should stick to a gold machine that can go up to those really high frequencies. For general hunting it does great on gold.

      Hey Steve, i don’t have any experience with it on the beach but i can tell you in my soil 11” to 11” coil the manticore is deeper. Im in Rhode Island USA.

      Hey Harps! I have. They focused allot on potential leakage, coil ears and the arm cuff. Mine has held its breath fine so far.

    My 1st detector was a nox 600. Bought a D2 last yr and have loved it but started to really hate the methods of charging, what a terrible design. I’ll be selling it, as I ordered a manticore today….going back to minelab. A lot to love about the D2 but they have to come up with a better design for charging the darned thing. Also noticed the 85/86 ID flaw which I think you pointed out in another vid

    How long is the battery life in actual use?

      7-8 hours i think. All depends on what mode because the modes are all frequency driven now.

    So when using in shallow saltwater, obviously in that mode... where does one set GB? For instance with FBS or BBS, GB is not even a thought. With Manticore in shallow saltwater, does one GB? Turn on tracking, or manually set GB to 0?

      Nah. This is a different level to be honest with you. Between the audio options, being able to see multiple targets on the screen, separation, ignoring large iron…

      Yes...there is "full tone" which is probabily 99 this time and not 50. The only thing i don´t like so far...

    You make a LOT of assumptions about jargon we understand. For beginners like me, I have NO IDEA what half of what you're talking about means. You're throwing out terms that beginners will know nothing about. You talk about regions, but say nothing about what that means, how they work, etc. This is an intermediate tutorial at best. It's not for beginners.
