  • 2018 LWB Transit Custom camper build. Bought in 2019 with only 4k miles. Genuine Sport model with 170 bhp, Air-con, heated drivers seat, electric folding mirrors, sat-nav, Android Auto etc...
A much more straightforward build than the previous Peugeot Boxer due to less plumbing and no shower room!
Lightweight ply used for the main parts of the build. Diesel heater installed under passenger seat, sliding windows on both sides, seat made using top quality 6 inch foam for a very comfortable seat and slides out into 4ft wide bed - I used the front seats and an insert to create the length for a very comfortable double bed. This saves space in the back to allow for a toilet cubicle and I STILL have enough storage in the back for 2 folding electric bikes!

A really good job, well done. There are so many great ideas here and a brilliant layout. The insulated partition / curtain alone is worth a how to upload.

Absolutely beautiful build, love the orange color! I saved this video for a few future build ideas on my own.

Thanks so much. Glad you like it. I'd put a lot of thought into the layout to maximise the space and it seemed to work out well. Hope your build goes well!

Y've put me off just now. Your job is way too good. I will never get to this level. :(
Well done, mate! And i love the orange.

Thanks Alon. I just gave it a go and had no experience before my first van build so I'd encourage you just to have a try and if you don't get it right the first time, that's normal. Those curved doors took a few attempts to get right! RUclips is full of good videos to help you along.

Amazing job . Do you have wet shower ? Where did you purchase cabinets or were they custom built . Sorry I have to many questions to list . You should do an in depth review . One of the best builds as far as cosmetics that I've seen . Would like to know more . Keep up the good work

Hi, sorry for the slow reply. All cabinets are custom built (and no shower). I really should do an audio version so that I can talk through the details a bit more.

Beautiful work. If you don't mind replying, where did the cabinet design fridge/stove/sink
    come from. Cheers

Hi sorry for the slow reply. I saw curved doors on another camper and then just made it up my own design from that. Had to Kerf the wood to create the bends and that took a few attempts to perfect.

@@Rickbrown74 never too late Rick, I am about to move back over to the UK after 25 years in the states, first thing I want is a simple simple camper van so the wife and me can go watch the races and make a cup of tea lol

Another excellent job Rick, very well done. Did you sell the Boxer ?

    • @Rickbrown74
      @Rickbrown74  2 года назад

Thanks Shorty. Yes, sold it a good while ago and got a good price so very happy with that. Picked up this van for a good price and find it much more usable overall. Works great on trips as you can access carparks which the boxer couldn't and can get around towns much easier. Miss the shower room but that's the only compromise. 😎

@@Rickbrown74 Not surprised you got good money for the Boxer, it was like a factory build ! Enjoy the Transit. Lots of places around to blag a shower anyway ....

Exactly. Had 9 days around Wales last summer and got a campsite every night at the last minute. 👍
