Amelia! I totally understand what you are saying. It would stay flat if you just tied it while it was laying on the flat surface but when you pick it up, you're able to adjust things a bit and make it more well rounded. Let me know how it turns out! (full disclosure, it still may have a "back" but not a flat back 😂
