the "we dont have a medic" voicelines should honestly be added to every gamemode imo
They are really sad in this gamemode specificaly that they have no medic for some reason

What if enemy Spy disguise as your teammate Medic. You see him call Medic (Maybe think someone changed to Medic) and your character tells loudly "We don't have Medic".

@@cloud0368ctually not really, a good amount of the voice actors, specifically for demo, heavy, sniper, and medic the voice actors are constantly doing stuff involving the voices, they love these characters as much as we do, search up "the sandvich saga" it's a series of videos the voice actors did for fun, and I'm sure Valve could get the voice actors for spy and scout
The only on is unfortunately solider, RIP Rick May, we miss you every day
Pretty impressive that Valve's Janitor managed this entire update on his own and did all the new voicelines for all characters himself.

some of these would work pretty well in casual games, especially the "no medic" lines and the "you have been gardened!"

The person who did the impressions certainly tried his damndest and some are pretty spot on, what i feel like people tend to ignore if these lines are written just as well though, personally i think a few need a bit more of the classes personality written into them.

Yeah my biggest gripe is that a lot of the voicelines in this mode have that Marvel writing vibe to them, akin to "that sounded better in my head" type lines.

one of our snipers was about to get crushed by the Saxton and the sniper said ''RUN AWAY RUN AWA-'' and got killed by the Saxton lol
I've never played that mode althought i can imagine how was sniper's face before getting killed by Saxton 😂😂😂

Mercenary voice actor and Saxton/Gray Mann are different voice actors.
Saxton And Gray Mann are voiced by Matthew Simmons

Scout is so cute lmao. These impressions are impressive! Thought they were the originals for a minute. Pure, raw talent right here. Love how Medic not being included has voicelines.
while you can hear that it's done by just one guy, he does them VERY well.
i can see him possibly voicing characters for future fan sfms.

Demo voice lines actually sounds pretty similar of how Gary Schwartz tone is today, as his age obviously affect his voice.
In general the voice work for this is really good for the most part, and that's a big acomplishment considering how iconic these voices are.
Many people act like total dicks ignoring the fact this was made entirely by the community whitout any help of Valve.

Honestly I think these are receiving a bit too much criticism. They’re not spot on, per se… the spy’s definitely off but it’s impressive that he was able to do all 8 of the Mercs (I feel like anyone could do Pyro pretty decently) pretty adequately. Some lines are better than others but I’d say they’re passable.
I would rather not give them any new voice lines if they're going to sound like this. The only one i can stand is Saxton Hale's and even then Dreux did a much better job with the previous Hale. Sadly he didn't re-cast him.

I could see a holoween update that adds HHH and easter bunny. Christian Brutal and (redacted)engi probably getting passed without some changes.

The scout one sounds pretty well, but he sounds like he smoked for 10 years.
Also you guys gotta remember Valve had NO development in VSH mode, they used a community version of the mode and put it in the game. So it would be difficult for them to contact the original VAs and may even have some copyright issues for voices like saxton. So they did the best they could, and for the amount of chaos and explosions in the mode, it would be hard to notice the difference in the voice lines. Valve could have gotten some of the voice actors for this, but the bare minimum is too much for Valve.

Scout VA can't be bothered to do it because he doesn't want to be just known as the guy who voices Scout. Understandable.
Engineer VA can't be bothered because he's too famous with other things and doesn't care about TF2 that much. Shame. But ok. Whatever. May the Force be with him.

@@wolfgalaxy9086 I mean the 2 VAs were done with TF2 way before VSH. That’s why we never see them in the Sandvich Saga or doing QandA interviews with the other VAs.

@@bobbybingo4506 Snipers voice is relatively lighter compared to the other mercs imo. He's about the same as Spy which is also deeper than he should be here.

@bobbybingo4506 I was iffy on it at first until I learned that it was all one guy. I know some of them are pitch shifted and I still realized that they were soundalikes while playing but it's still made impressive.

They did the best, they can use a bit of practice but they did alright. Especially with how close they are trying to get with the character's

Wow, one man can voice all classes that whole studio. Maybe that's a heresy, but... He got a talent.
Having that much vocal range that you can voice characters with vastly different personalities and ages is extremely impressive. He actually sounds pretty similar to the og voice actors.
Shoutout to the little Gremlin giggle Demo does at 03:22. I dunno why, but it's so charming. Bro's devious. Also. Heavy's attachment to Medic is so cute. He misses doktor... :-(
So... Im the only one who actually likes the voicelines and doesnt mind them being used?
I am starting to warm up to them, but some definitely need a recast. The guy is good, but he obviously can't nail all of them.
I like most of them, scout was okay but needs a recast, and so does spy.
VSH was a community made mode that was initially a separate thing you needed to download. Fan made voice lines were done before this mode got picked up by Valve and they had a choice to either get rid of the lines or keep them. Honestly the voice lines sounds better in game than the raw audio.
This guy gives me a run for my money, I LOVED The Heavy’s singing lines!

And I thought they might try to ask the real ones, since the majority has been active again for TF2. Either way, it's impressive that one person did all this (when I heard the voice I thought it was voice speech but guess I'm wrong), they are so close to the originals, and it's even more impressive that we got new lines, this could lead to more lines in possible future updates at one point.
Most of the original voicelines were made with the help of lowering the pitch of the voices, I think if there were some sort of more advanced audio editing behind this impressions they would sound even better. Very impressive tho
I feel like the pitch just needed to be increased slightly for everyone except medic and it'll be more accurate

The voice lines of Soldier are pretty nice. James McGuinn also made some of the voices almost the same as the original voice actors.

These are amazing, I couldn't tell at first it was all one dude, but dang maybe he should be doing more updates in the future. We could get even more community gamemode overhauls if they have a single guy that can do every voice pretty close to the originals

Wtf, this sounds so good, it took me until sniper to read the description and figure out it's not the original VA's (minus soldier), and even then I would've still thought it was the original VAs. I mean it has been 16 years, surely their voices would have changed slightly right?

Valve couldn't be bothered to get them back in the studio I guess. That or they didn't bother to check that this new game mode had an impressionist and just let it be in the game

I think Waylon should have voiced Scout and Soldier. It's totally cool that these were all done by one guy but it would have been way better if they got the real VAS. They're doing the Sandvich videos, can't they get them in game?

This is cool but I wish valve used the original voice actors besides soldier R.I.P because these are good impressions but you can definitely tell the difference most of the lines
Heavy is actually pretty spot on the person who did the voices has done them before for fun but he really stepped it up for this update

According to someone from Reddit, it's not the voices that are getting criticized, as most people like the voices, it's the IMPLEMENTATION of the voices at all that is criticized. According to that guy.

when you feel like the voice lines sound weird just think about the mercs as if they were older therfore their voice changed. It helps
I like the voices, but I hate that they all don't sound quite right, especially since the regular va's voices can also be used during vsh
If u think about it, all of them are so accurate, like heavy cries when no medic, when engineer suggests to gather around dispenser and spy saying "of course its my fault you didn't rven scratch him" for some reason. Pretty good actually
I think some of those voice lines (such as Sniper's RUUUUNNN lines) could work for scenarios in other gamemodes.
I like how one of Heavy Weapons Guy's wall climbing voicelines references Diggy Diggy Hole.

3:57 Heavy being the most upset about medic's death is pretty accurate to the rest of the game, and the cannon.
All of these are really good but I think the engie is definitely the best by far.
