9:08 more than likely a sewer main cover. those covers are used on roads etc. And at 21:15 is just like the one I entered but has a Circular shaped lid. I will be getting cover keys soon and see what's really in them I'll send pics as well.
Great video!
A lot of these places i used to build camps with my mates as a kid. I loved to camp up behind and between torrington green and hatton park rd near the war bunker, god bless you for the memories, Love and blessings to you and your loved ones!
This is absolutely amazing, I’ve learnt so much.. I’ve lived in Wellingborough for a long time, and didn’t know half of what you told me! Thank you! X
Love this, watching from Australia
Awesome stuff.. There is so much that has been hidden or forgotten here in Northamptonshire.. I've only just begun... Send soo much postive vibes your way.. Thanks for the support
Loving your work Purple. I was born in Wellingborough, first lived in Redwell Estate, then moved to Torrington Road, literally around the corner from your Red Well. THAT was where I played,
adventured and LOVED to spend my time. Me and my mate David. Thanks for making this and for loving your history :-)
most entertaining video i seen this week TBH , i find it fascinating ,because as kids we all used to play in these spinney woodland areas and other old sites, not knowing they were landmarks of booming industry covered with tram and rail tracks springs wells dedicated roads to the main stations etc,so as a mature adult its interesting, makes me wanna go back to places i used to play in rushden that used to have brickmaking and gaswork sites etc and have a look around
Just moved into the area n loving your videos; happy new year to u n yours
Welcome to the community.
amazing, so interesting, i have learned so much. Where the old brick works were at the top of Croyland Road/Northampton Road there is an area easily recognised by the rough grass and it's very wet...?
Apparently, many years ago the brick kilns flooded and in turn flooded the works where Croyland Road school was to be built..'So they say...I really enjoyed this video and I thank you. nice to see ' the misses '
The next big Kotch video I'll dedicate to you for your absolutely uplifting words...now do I do a video on furnace lane or do I travel to an old train yard otherside of the county where an old phoenix train rests...the choice is now yours sir
@@PurpleVision23 love the sir bit... you and your site and presentation fascinate me. I thank you for your kind offer and I'd love to take you up on it.. Furnace Lane would be super. I've been down to the rail lines where there's a little under bridge. before the bridge there used to be a crossing. so as you say ''yeah, lets go for it' thankyou
So beautiful place nice weather always keep safe and god blessed new friend here from Macau
Nice one thanks for the support. Macau wow, God bless
Can you remember the pond on hemmingwell xx
Yes I can, fell through the ice on it one year!
The old tip site ( green gate) I think.lol. xx
Red well has had some conservation work done.xx
I used to go out with a girl in Gleneagles that had a very suspicious drain cover in the garden. Didn't think an awful lot of it at the time other than it was a bit weird but now wondering if it was the long lost well!
I always wandered what that funny ripply effect in the water of the redwell was 😂
a lot of these wells are actually " cisterns " narrow entrance and a wide bottom like a tank, they are often found at dips between land or a valley to collect rainwater for kilns and factorys etc.
There is a well in the allotments off hill side on findon rd xx
Well done mr purple. Lol xx
that redwell spring water is def safer than most tap beers in town lmao (especially bar life )
3:15 if u download google earth pro there is a history timeline of the ariel views, i dont know how far back they go for welly ,but rushden they go as early as 1945, very fascinating to see the old train station tracks and the old factories and gasworks and mining pits etc of the past ( which we used to play on our bikes before it got build over ) edit , i looked ,only goes back as 2004, seems it was always just a sports ground ? can see the old markings of the posts etc on it
I've never used Google pro.. I'll be sure to check that out.. I lots of map websites on my mobile.. I'll get Victorian link for you. One moment

@@PurpleVision23 cool thanks
@@PurpleVision23 ah yes thats the same map i used to check out rushdens heritage too !
Why the heck doesn't the council reinstate these wells or just make it a historical marked place
They can't shut the walls down because they are our heritage. Wellingborough was once a spa town and not only that a royal spa town if my memory serves me right xx
They can and they still hound those near the lady well
Hi its amari thanks so much
@@fazeamari7185 no problem..thank you young man
