  • Travelling to Matsushima on the Tohoku shinkansen (bullet train), plus a room tour of the fanciest Japanese hotel I've stayed in: the Matsushima Ichinobo Hotel.
    Join me on a travelling day, from Sapporo in Hokkaido on the Super Hokuto Limited Express to Hakodate, then the Tohoku shinkansen to Sendai and finally a local train to Matsushima. It's a 6 hour journey! The Hayabusa is the fastest bullet train in Japan, going through Tohoku in north Japan. Then a room tour of the Matsushima Ichinobo Hotel, a Japanese hotel with an onsen (hot spring bath) in a beautiful coastal town. There are more vlogs from Matsushima Bay coming up - it's one of the top scenic views in Japan!

    Hello !
    Probably you know, Matsushima is one of 3 great scenic views of Japan.
    Of course, I love it !
    Other 2 are Miyajima and Amanohashidate.
    Of course, also I love them.
    The hotel is so nice !
    I guess, probably expensive ………。😓
    I'm looking forward your next video !
    Please have fun !

      A big city is fun.
      But, local cities and country have another charm points.
      I love beautiful scenic views !
      Please come to Japan again and enjoy !

    Dig the digs, but can hardly wait for your full tour of Matsushima. The scenery from the hotel window looks wonderful even at that time of year, but I'm happy to be aiming for May next year.

      I've been looking forward to editing my Matsushima video(s)! You'll love it - I'm sure it'd be even better when it's warmer. The best part was definitely Fukuurajima Island.

    I think the mirror is covered for feng shui reasons? It's a good idea

    • @cakeswithfaces
      @cakeswithfaces  4 года назад

      Ah could be, that would make sense!!

    • @CharlieStuff407
      @CharlieStuff407 4 года назад

      It's also covered because some think it can be a portal to another universe and a being could come through it at night and steal your energy (or even YOU!) and take you away. In other mythologies, there's a belief that one's soul can become trapped in the mirror.

    The paint on the train is very 80s. That room is huge! The sofa facing the window is a nice touch.

      Haha, yes the colours wouldn't look out of place on an 80s shellsuit! 😝 I could have happily stayed longer in that hotel!

    I'm curious, have you visited any bars in Japan? I'm turning 20 next year and since I'll be visiting after my birthday I was wondering what they would be like, and what drinks to try when in Japan.

    • @cakeswithfaces
      @cakeswithfaces  4 года назад +1

      Bars in Japan usually have: beer (including Japanese beers), sake, shochu (a spirit), lemon sours and ginger highballs (whiskey and soda). Sometimes there's a cover charge (a bit like an entrance fee), so watch out for that! Often they have food/snacks as well. You can also get alcohol at convenience stores. Look out for Strong Zeros (shochu and fruit soda) - they're pretty strong and only about 100 yen!
