Idk. People learn and people change. He wants it and we need someone who really wants to fix it but he has to win over the team as if Hes new. The young kids dont know him. If Woody is this meddlesome why would t he sabotage Rex again? At this point who is to say Woody wasn't at fault for letting Braylon Edwards go and strip sanchez of all his weapons. The downfall of the last good team. Yes i want himnot take shit from anyone but idk. Its all scary. Gun to my head.. yes.
Jake, the Giants just released QB Daniel Jones....I mean he isn't flashy at all, but he would be a damn good fill in for Aaron Rodgers if the Jets decide to move on from him. I don't want Jones long-term but I see him as a fit rather than Tyron Taylor...the Jets could then have Jones for 2-years and have Jordan Travis or another QB sit behind him while the Jets recoup their long-term plans. I really think that with the current recievers the Jets have, Jones could put up at least respectable numbers...the other options are not glamorous at all, ie, the Mac Jones type. What are your thoughts as to the Jets maybe giving Daniel Jones a shot? Do the Jets have enough cap space?
They need to get Brian Flores, that guy is a General. He will turn around the New York Jets. give him full autonomy of the whole entire team and He Will Destroy the Opposition
I love that Rex wants to coach the Jets again. I'm sure he'll get an interview, but there are better candidates such as, Brian Flores, Kliff Kingsbury or Vrabel, but if none of those guys pan out, then I'd take Rex just because of his passion to make the Jets a better team. I know this is not what we as Jets fans would want, but I'd rather have Rex than a guy who had never been a head coach in the NFL.
Rex is not employed by a team if rex is smart he walks into the interview with his staff already committed example he could bring in Frank Reich for offensive coordinator he can talk to anyone he wants i believe
If Rex becomes the Jets coach again , hopefully this time he can get a better offensive coordinator ! No more eating cheeseburgers on the sidelines, lol 😆
Being realistic, I'd have Monken towards top of list. While he hasn't been a head coach before in the pros, he has A ton of experience that went well in Tampa, Baltimore and in college at, Georgia. If we're going to take a swing on a first-time offensive mind and head coach, he seems like he would have the highest likelihood of success (outside of Ben Johnson).
This roster is better than the one Rex inherited the first time around, and that worked pretty well. Getting the right offensive staff in place is paramount, but it's not as ridiculous as Faria makes it sound. Bringing in an OC wouldn't fix the defense one iota. Rex would DEFINITELY have the D whipped back into shape immediately.
Rex is ready to coach but it depends on whether Woody is up to it and if the new GM is willing to go there. I like the possibility but it's not going to be that easy.
Admit it, Jake, Rex is your number one choice for the job. You keep saying Vrabel, but the way you talk about Rex Ryan, he's got to be the guy you want
Everyone mentions the last few years, yeah after tannenbaum and itzik gutting the damn roster. Everyone neglects to mention that. Rex WANTS to be here, that speaks volumes.
As far as head coaches go, is Dan Campbell really a great HC or are his OC and DC a big part of the success? What if Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn left, would the Lions still be competitive at the same level? The only question I have is the same as Jake's, what would the Rex Ryan staff look like, I am sure Ryan would be open to modernizing an offense. At this point where the Jets are, I kinda feel nobody wants this HC job due to Woody and his persistent meddling.
Woody will never pay what it would cost to hire a head coach with experience. That’s why we always have unproven coordinators. I’m not sure about Rex but he would come at a Woody approved price.
I’m confused. Woody Johnson owns the team. He hired a GM and gave him the 6 year contract he wanted. He was essentially hired by his buddy Adam Gase. He then fired Adam Gase. He then hired Saleh. Then hired offensive and defensive coordinators. Then fired offensive and defensive coordinators. Brought in new coordinators. Made the worst draft pick of all time. Then doubled and tripled down on that draft pick. Made more horrible draft picks and free agent moves. After not making the playoffs for 5 years and probably not to make Douglas the bad guy….the owner fired the coach. Then Douglas, who never talks, comes up with “I serve the owner” nonsense. So then after a 30-64 record the owner fires him. Made him a millionaire over 6 years. He’s probably made more money on these 6 years than most of us will see in a lifetime. What exactly did the owner do wrong here???
I LOVE SEXY REXY , I have been a fan of this team since 1969, one of the concerning issues I have with this fan base is that we continue to hold on to pass glory. You can't run it back with Rex. We need an offensive minded coach. Munncan is my guy, a coach who knows how to develop QB'S. Please let's put all our pass glory of winning in a shoebox and put it in the closet. What no one is talking about is how the NFL is evolving again, Rex. Herm, Mangini had their time. The bottom line is Jake. As you mentioned is the Texans, Commanders, and the third team I can't remember. It's about getting the GM and Coach right. And once Woody gets rid of his yes men or consulting with them, the better off he'll be.
If it comes down to Woody 🤡 Johnson hiring another coordinator wanna be HC i’d take Rex in a heartbeat… if we’re hiring someone established, like Vrabel or Gruden.. then i’d rather go that route. End of story.
THANK YOU!! NOOOO REX! This is laughable!! What staff would he hire?? He staffs stunk the end of his tenure. What GM would come in knowing Rex is here?? Come on,this is LAUGHABLE. You all are falling for the Rex shtick. His defenses stunk at the end. His teams were undisciplined and his offenses were just as bad as they are now.
Daria is a Rex HATER!!! They tore apart Rex’s team… starting with bad drafts and not re- signing Braelin Edwards at wide receiver!!! And it got worse from there
Jake this guy nick sounds like the biggest hater ever😂😂. It sounds comical actually. His reasons are just regurgitated points from people who hate the jets.
I’m sorry Faria’s take’s r trash. Not one former coach in his top 5. Slowick? No thanks. Gruden’s an analyst nowadays as well so what’s the difference with Rex. Vrabel, Stefanski, if not I’d b good with giving Rex a shot. But definitely needs right OC with a more current offense
Bring in Flores, give him an interview. Give Spags an interview, Vrabel, Joe Brady, Johnson, Monken. Rex should be the last candidate you ever consider if you are the Jets. Stop being desperate.
Do you want Rex Ryan back as the Jets coach?
Yes
No

@@JakeAsman 👎
NOOOOOOOOOOOO
I love Rex, but looking towards the future would like Vrabel or Flores
REX IS BETTER THAN VRABEL AND FLORES
Neither one of those guys are coming here either lol
They need to get Brian Flores, that guy is a General. He will turn around the New York Jets. give him full autonomy of the whole entire team and He Will
Destroy the Opposition
Jake this show just keeps getting better!!
The fact that we’re even entertaining all of this Rex stuff just proves we aren’t a serious franchise

Faria looks like Zach Galifinakis from the Hangover
LMAO 01:25:52 and the following tirade was pure gold
Since Woody listens to the pulse of the fans online, consider this a done deal!
Rex is not employed by a team if rex is smart he walks into the interview with his staff already committed example he could bring in Frank Reich for offensive coordinator he can talk to anyone he wants i believe
Reich is junk
If Rex becomes the Jets coach again , hopefully this time he can get a better offensive coordinator ! No more eating cheeseburgers on the sidelines, lol 😆

Wasn't Culley in that '21 head coach hiring cycle ?
Put Rex in as an advisor and Vrabel for HC
If we brought in Munkin from Baltimore, I would like them to draft Milroe. He has had Lamar at MVP level, and Milroe is a mobile qb
I would rather get Vrabel, IMO
Rex is ready to coach but it depends on whether Woody is up to it and if the new GM is willing to go there. I like the possibility but it's not going to be that easy.

Bring back REX!!!!
BRING BACK REX !!!!!!!! 4-2 playoff record ALL ROAD VICTORIES ..
As far as head coaches go, is Dan Campbell really a great HC or are his OC and DC a big part of the success? Y E S S YES YES YES !
Get REX in the building. He learned from his mistake.
Flores, Aaron Glenn, or Ben Johnson.
Bring Rex back
the coach and gm need to be on the same page!!! need an offesive mind in there to help rex
Woody will never pay what it would cost to hire a head coach with experience. That’s why we always have unproven coordinators. I’m not sure about Rex but he would come at a Woody approved price.
Wasn’t Rob Ryan a Browns fan? He was with the Browns.
Not one coach nick mentioned would get the locker room playing hard! This is all white noise
Bring him home
I prefer Brian Flores. He would bring Accountability to the Jets.
How many commercials dude
Been there and done that with Rex. Woody bettter not seriously consider thim for the job. He's not a good head coach
If the jets take rex back then the jets should let calin capnik Qb 😅
No Jets player has wore #59 since Kyle Clifton, what’s the deal with that?
This is a no win situation. Next year wont be any different. Woody will pull the trigger on the worst selections around.
I’m confused. Woody Johnson owns the team. He hired a GM and gave him the 6 year contract he wanted. He was essentially hired by his buddy Adam Gase. He then fired Adam Gase. He then hired Saleh. Many of us fans have faith in Rex because he's the only good coach in our lifetimes. Also everyone nick listed won't be coming here lol
No
I thought Nick lived in a car?
If it comes down to Woody 🤡 Johnson hiring another coordinator wanna be HC i’d take Rex in a heartbeat… if we’re hiring someone established, like Vrabel or Gruden.. then i’d rather go that route. End of story.
Get rid of these younger guys. Only in Jets fans eyes are they golden.
Do not get Rex
THANK YOU!! NOOOO REX! This is laughable!! What staff would he hire?? He staffs stunk the end of his tenure. What GM would come in knowing Rex is here?? Come on,this is LAUGHABLE. Vrabel is a blockhead and wouldn't survive. He know zero about offense.
Daria is a Rex HATER!!! They tore apart Rex’s team… starting with bad drafts and not re- signing Braelin Edwards at wide receiver!!! And it got worse from there
It ended badly only bc Idzik sucked!
Whoever they bring in for coach or GM How about not going near assistants to be head coaches. Your collective memory sucks.
This guy is terrible. Rex would be great. It was Woody's meddling that blew up the success
No he sucks and he sucks whit the bills 😕
Jake this guy nick sounds like the biggest hater ever😂😂. It sounds comical actually. His reasons are just regurgitated points from people who hate the jets.
