Trying the West Midlands Metro (Birmingham Tram) | Grand Central to St Pauls | 777Trains

In today's video I travel aboard the West Midlands Metro system, otherwise known as the Birmingham Tram. I travel from Grand Central to St Pauls, Grand Central serves the Bullring, and New Street station. St Pauls serves the nearby St Pauls Square. The system opened in 1999 and has had numerous extensions since, one key example being to Wolverhampton Train station, and another to Edgbaston Villiage.

idk why everyone calls it the birmingham tram... it wasn't until 2014/15 that it actually went into Birmingham, plus Birmingham never really claimed it as there's... hence the name West Midlands Metro.. or its former name Midland Metro... no hate but people calling it the Birmingham tram just annoys me because its not just simply the Birmingham tram because it goes through a lot more places than just Birmingham!

I think since Birmingham is the biggest place it goes through, it's is the most recognisable name to give it, however as I know its not the official name I only put it in the brackets! 🙂

@@777Trains in theory, technically speaking it would be classed the Wednesbury tram system, as that is where the depot is
