We’ve been waiting years for a hybrid, recreationally towable Explorer that’s never materialized. Though the ‘24 Maverick 2WD Hybrid is towable behind an RV, one of our acquaintances with one discovered difficulties mounting a tow bar mount on the truck. Apparently putting the adapters on entails either cutting sloppy-looking holes in the bumper and/or modifying coolant system air louvers behind the grill, that negates the warranty. Can you ascertain from Ford if the hybrid AWD is deemed recreationally towable, and if so how Ford expects companies like Blue Ox or Roadmaster to acceptably install tow bar brackets on it? I’d also like to know if and what type of running boards are options… my handicapped wife needs them to get in and out of higher SUVs and trucks.
