  • Video showing replacement of the Oxygen / O2 sensor on our 2002 Jaguar XJ8 3.2 Sport. This was a great car we bought off a good friend and fellow Jaguar enthusiast and have since sold.

Very informative video. Doing this in this manner really makes getting to the sensor plug in much easier than doing it from below. Thank you for sharing.

But bank 2 (left side of car) on RHD is the more difficult to replace as the expansion tank has to come out and maybe the heater pump and a lot more.
I have P1647 error code which is bank 2 upstream (heated) so I'm going to jack the car up and see if I can get at from underneath before I commence on this pain.

Getting ready to do this myself. Do you have to remove everything? Or can this be done without removing all of the parts you show?

Hi it's all about ease of access. I found removing those parts made the job a lot easier. If you have a car lift or don''t mind working on your back under the car then it can be removed that way.

Question. This looks like you are replacing the sensor on the right side if the car. In America this would be the passenger side. Is this correct? I assumed p1646 was the top sensor on the right side (passenger in the US) of the car? Is this correct? Please let me know.

Hi - yes for the USA it is the passenger side sensor. The one in the video is for the RHD UK model. Top (upstream) sensor
