I'm Robert God made me schizophrenic. My dad died when I was 19 n I started drugs n done a lot I died three different times. I lost everything my family kids everything. I finally quit at 35 and I lost my mind seeing n hearing. The voice's was so much I would cry out to God and nothing. I spent 2 yrs in a mental hospital where I found God I prayed not for myself but for him I said to him I cant imagine what you go through now the voices are gone. Im better sober for 6 yrs n a beautiful wife Kelsey. Thank you for this song

Keep that head up man, key is find purpose and responsibility. I have been in the Grip myself. Also as a way to keep working on yourself if you have never done DBT therapy ... which is much different than any other as you learn and practice the coping skills that most never learn or master. Legit you could turn into a Jedi master if you learn for one to regulate your emotions.. they control us in that way, also no more running from pain. You can sit and deal and let it pass. Shame is your friend, it is the compass that guides us when we start heading in wrong direction. Listen to it, and do the opposite of what your ashamed of. Distress tolerance will keep you from relapse and regret. Acceptance is key, personal responsibility and mindfulness. Seriously to stay sober you must constantly be involved in maintaining and improving yourself because if you stop, you get complacent. Keep up good work 🙏♥️🇺🇸

      Read < James 5:16 >
And then know I am proud of you....of anyone who can admit their faults, their sins. To basically confess and relate to every other human being on the planet. Bcuz not one of us is perfect, whether we have the same sins or not, does not matter, we are all guilty of fucking it up occasionally. And when we admit it to each other we are free from its chains. I've been free from those chains for a few years now. Whoever said "the truth shall set you free"...?....they had that part figured out anyway. I may not be but a speck on the radar, but once again, I am proud of you man, for real. Just keep trying and do your best. You'll do fine, you seem to be right on track 😉

We love you, Burden. Keep speaking the Truth! God speaks through you. I'm 47, been fighting addiction for almost 35 years. Lived homeless on the streets with no family since age 13. After 9 years in prison, I had put myself through high school, then college in my 40s, and today I still cope but with self-medication, because the struggle never ends. I thank God that He is using you to reach past, present, and future generations of lost and recovering souls with your songs. Most all of those I knew are dead. Sadly only like 10% of us heroin addicts get and stay clean. Homeless friendless family gave up sleeping on loading docks but only when you could hustle enough dope that you could slam that plunger down and forget that you’re laying on concrete with out even a blanket feeling dirty ass with a burning itch because last time you felt well enough to want to clean up and went to take a nutsack butthole underarm and face wash in some gas station or grocery store bathroom some worker or security threatened the cops ..so hollow so empty that you couldn’t cry if someone shot your mom in front of you right there (unless you are dope sick then your eyes are non stop watering) making random addict homeless 20-60 hour friendships where you combine your crimes and get healthy dose of high and spend who knows how many hours tweeking around digging in dumpsters and peoples cars with them talking like you are making some kinda bond because you’re starved for feeling like a human before one of you just wanders off or takes Off so they don’t have to share the last of the dope...rinse repeat., feeling like society doesn’t even see you or if they do you must resemble a dead rat or pile of trash the way people look right through you like you aren’t there but do manage to step around you
But still choosing to chase that bliss even though 70% of the time your dog ass sick or fighting the clock to find some cash and beat the dope sick clock ...still only 10% make it. If you made it walk tall motherfuckr you are strong

about 20yrs ago I started using cocaine with some friends on the weekends. 6 months later I was a full-blown crack addict.. I had my "rock bottom" moment when I had traded my truck and my motorcycle of crack and was getting kicked out of my house due to non-payment. I never once stole from anyone or hurt anyone due to my addiction, not once. I lived on the streets for about 6 months putting myself back together, all on my own. After that, I havent used since. But, even to this day I am looked upon by my family as a crackhead. If someone misplaces something, Im thought to have stolen it.. This is after 20yrs of being clean, and having never been a thief, even during my addiction. Im a family man now, a business owner, making my way in this world, and even 20yrs later people that know of my past still treat me this way. Its so disheartening :(

I can’t believe he’s gone… all I can do is hold our son so close to me… I’m so lost right now… he was doing so well.. I never thought it would be him… I miss him so much it hurts so bad. I’m so angry and I don’t think I’ve fully processed everything that has happened yet. Our son looks just like him. I hope that you’re flying high and no longer in pain my love… Alvin Geovany Martinez 02-21-1990 - 02-07-2024. I really hope that there is a life after death and that you’re down here watching over Odin and I… I promise that I will stay strong for our son. I love you. I hope that you’re proud of me. I need your strength right now. I could really use one of our talks. I was an addict until my salvation, having gone through withdrawals many times, and methadone clinic twice. Every day is another day to fight my demons, and being truly bipolar doesn't help. Now I'm in pain management with the poison I was addicted to, but for two years I've fought the temptation, all glory to God

You have nothing to be ashamed of. You be proud and take it day by day. There will be a lot of slips but you keep trying. God brought you thru this n too this for a reason. You have so much more to you then your addiction! You are Burden, Gods child, and he knows what's in your heart and will never, no matter what, abandon you. 'Footsteps' is my most favorite poem. If you don't know it please look it up. God bless you

You have came a long way! Quit kicking yourself. Do unto others the way you want to be treated. Pay your tithes, and ask for forgiveness every day. You are a Crusader for Christ!!!

Just discovered you & I absolutely love this! Believe me, I know the struggle. I know the miserable life that addiction brings. I almost lost everything from this shit. I started eating fentanyl patches when I was only 15 years old. When I could no longer afford or find those I turned to heroin. I was doing other drugs too of course, whatever I could my hands on tbh. I should really be fuckin dead rn. I should’ve died many times actually.. I’m not religious at all but there must be some reason I’m still here. Whatever it is, I’m still not sure.
I’m 24 now & 2 1/2 years clean from heroin, but on suboxone maintenance. I know some people don’t consider you to be clean if you’re on any maintenance drug. & I understand that it is trading one addiction for another but at the same time, as long as I’m not sticking a needle in my arm or doing grimey ass shit just to get my heroin fix, then I’m fucking proud of myself. That was a huge step for me. I never thought I’d be able to quit.
Anyway, you’re an amazing artist, please never give up. 🖤

I'm fighting the battle of addiction. I have been completely sober from everything, will be a year in July. I'm all alone and pregnant and scared. I sometimes feel if I pick up the pipe, pick up the joint it would take the pain away. God has been showing up, my life is slowly turning around. I deserve sobriety, to feel good about solving my problems without using. I deserve to be proud of myself for choosing therapy and working on myself. Sometimes guilt and pain are hard to cope with. I know with God, help, I got this.

Hey homie. 3 years ago I had to sleep in my broke down Toyota Avalon mid winter for 3 months and froze every night. Was embarrassed when they knocked on my window and woke me up and forced me to move spots.
I drank every night in that car but woke up at 4 AM every morning to bust my ass cause I had a 3 yr old little girl relying on me. Know that it's these moments that will build your character and strength. If you can climb from this you can anything don't you dare give up 🙏

This year I had a month sober off cannabis and three weeks off synthicals. But my mind gets stuck on painful shit and wont cease so i go seeking the best way i know how to medicate.
This track isn't the first Burden track that brought tears to me.
But this is the realist shit.
I quit drinking just over ten years ago. And im bout to celebrate with a bottle of Privilege Hennessy.
