there is a german word: lusche. it basicaly transltates weakling so all what we need to do is to change the spelling of lucius into luschius. same pronounciacion but now it fits.
Astartes thighs yummm...
I dare you to make a video on why Lorgar is the best Primarch. 🤣
It was Sevatar who beat Sigismund not Kharn. Though he did it by cheating after 30hrs and then regretted it because Sigi just laughed.
I'm just going to have to assume the only reason Constantine Valdor isn't on this list is you said no primarchs and he's basically the primarch of the custodes. Otherwise this is just unforgivable.
Nahh the primach of the custodian is the Emperor not Valdor
Agreed, Valdor would easily take the 3rd spot here. I'm willing to concede that the BS slanesh daemon and draigo could probably beat him
@@kevinbaumhoer7359 nah dude the Emperor is the primarch of the primarchs

Honorable mention goes to skulltaker, the bloodletter that has collected so many skulls for khorne that khorne lets him keep some.
Dude also killed Vulcan multiple times as in if Vulcan could die Headtaker would have beaten him
Everyone always sleeps on him despite him being an absolute beast
Scratch that I'm talking about the Dark Eldar who collects heads as well. Though he did indeed kill Vulcan multiple times during the Salamander invasion of the Dark City.

fortunately we can steel watch em on youtube and download them. But the new shit is paywalled.
So you don't wanna pay for the animations? But you still want the animations? You do realize these are made by people who now because of gw paying them can now work on them full time as opposed to a part time hobby right?
@@Mr.Hun13r they could afford to pay them and give them to us for free. They rape us enough with 38 dollar books and plastic models.

I thought "Where is Sly Marbo?"... But then I remembered that it is a list about duelists, not weapons of mass destruction.
or candidate for lost primarchs
You can't really classify an ICBM as the best fencer
You might be a powerful duelist, but a Baneblade’s primary fire is more powerful
That Goes for most things doesn't it?
I'm pretty sure Baneblades were present during Kharn's kills. Doesn't seem to matter
You might be a powerful Baneblade, but a Warlord Titans volcano cannon is more powerful

A pistol can be a melee weapon if you don't mind cleaning it after.
He only uses it at close range
Or, he just pistol-whips everyone.
My personal head canon is he only shoots warriors who flee/retreat from him, as “cowards” deserve to be shot in the back as opposed to a more honorable (even if more painful) death by Gorechild’s teeth.

Pretty sure it was Jago Sevatarion (Night lord first captain) who beat Sigismund in a fight and only then cause he headbutted him. Khan tried it too but Sigismund wasnt having any of that shit and just beat him up
The night lord beat him in a friendly match, while kharn beat him at the seige of terra

Didn't they agree to consider that match as a tie
If i remember correctly Sevatar got frustrated that Sigs skills were equal to his own so he headbutted the bastard and got disqualified...
"... the man can block, parry, and attack all in one strike..." That's basically the foundational principle of all real-world martial arts. Especially HEMA.
Yeah, that... was basically what was running through my head as well, that not only is it possible, it’s literally just being a skilled swordsman, through I suppose power swords and chain axes might change that math somewhat.
@@The_Murder_Party Nah, I think it was meant in litterally one single movement, not in a quick fluid succession of moves like a skilled swordfighter can do. I think for Sigi it is more of the like "he strikes so perfectly that the trajectory of the strike deflects perfectly your blow, opens up your guard and strikes you without even changing trajectory"
@@tetsudo6934 so, at least German long sword (I think) has a methodology wherein they just try to kill you, and because of the way that both people are making their attacks, parrys are almost accidental, as the trajectory lines, up, but, they're also not superhuman, so siggie could easily be more accurate. (or he's the only one who actually remembers old fighting styles XD)
@@The_Murder_Party Knowing humanity's relation with it's past in Wh40K it sure wouldn't be surpising if Sigi is just a master of old, forgotten fighting styles.
However, as you said, this technique is more of an accidental one. What i get from Sigi is that, no matter the weapon, angle and style of strike you are using, he is capable of pulling this off consistantly and fucking you up.

Also keep in mind. Kharn is Khorn's top Champion instead of Angron
Honestly is anyone even surprised?
Top ‘Mortal’ champion.
He’s pretty good in part because he can do shit in real space with considerably more ease than his daemonic counterparts.
Apples and oranges. Angron is a Daemon Prince, he can't manifest in the Materium without massive effort. Kharn is a mortal, he can be in real space whenever he wants. If Angron were still mortal, he'd obviously get the nod as Champion.
I wish Sevatar of the Night Lords was on this list, he was a sick duelist.

@MajorKill, There's a Parry+Riposte maneuver in Fencing known as parrying in Opposition which is kind of like a combination of a defensive + offensive maneuver at the same time. Its not that you DO anything special, but it has to do with how you position/ angle your weapon to simultaneously cover your target and threaten the opponent's target area. Nobody uses it because its not easy to figure out. I'm a pretty advanced fencer and it almost never occurs to me to use it, but it is a real thing.
Any famous matches where this obscure move was executed well?
number 1: valdor, becuase he beated the shit of every single primerch while being nerfed by the big E
Agreed but Major Kill did call him a Primarch of the Custodes so thats why he was not on the list.
@Aaronhw Aawoj delusional
Would be cool if it was true.
@Aaronhw Aawoj Didn't he actually won?
When did Valdor fight Horus?
Great on you for giving Abaddon his due credit. He has either defeated, killed, or fought to a draw all of these power-players; Sigismund, Kharn the Betrayer, Garviel Loken, Endryd Haar, Nathanial Garro, Jubal Khan (Heresy edition), Manius Calgar, Saint Celestine and A Clone of Horus. And a bunch of no-name marines, demons and xenos.
Garro whipped Abby's ass all over the place during the siege of Terra.
@@LARGO125 abbadon just about beat Garro and then fought Bel Sepatus and Haar killing them both but being nearly killed in the process, Garro got back up to finish him but he was teleportated away. Doesn't really feel like he whopped his arse to me.
@@LARGO125 True, but Garro had aid from Haar, Bel Sepatus, and bunch other unnamed schmucks on his side, who ganged up on Abaddo and his Terminators. This scene alone has made Abaddon regain some respect he is lost in all those years when he was only a mustache twirling villain, and made him somewhat decent character.
We give Abaddon a lot of shit, some well deserved, but as a character in a setting, he is pretty okay.
People forget Abby stopped the black legion from degenerating/getting killed after the siege of Terra. Then actually succeded in ripping the galaxy a new warp asshole. And he did this with allies that were probably scheming to kill him the entire time. Respect is due, even with that disgusting topknot.
Even eldrad yeeted him
Imperial Navy would be great...

Didn’t include Sevatar, yet says Kharn is the only one who can beat Sigismund. Kinda cringe
100% Sevetar was beast asf.
Putting down Kaldor Draigo is like having all of Exodia in your hand, on the field and having FINAL (Death) in your spell/trap zone.
It’s basically telling your opponent to uninstall.
"Block, strike, and parry in one movement."
That's actually how a lot of parries are done. They're like a mirror of your opponent's strike, which causes it to be blocked. In the most common meaning of parry, it's a kind of block which causes your opponent's attack to move off line.
4:29-4:33 That one caught me off guard very much, though if more people knew about the characters they would propably use your words.
"Butchered them like chicken nuggets" as I'm loading nugs into the microwave...
You microwave chicken nuggets. That’s disgusting
"Block, strike, and parry all at the same time. Sounds impossible right?"
Welllll....
Love it! You should cover the badass that is Barabas Dantioch and his absolute bromance with Alexis Polux.
I THOUGHT it was canon that Caldor is empowered with the Spirit of Magnus, the gene seed of the emperor, and like the spacejuice of the star child...but maybe I made that up over time?

Sevetar was the only one who could beat Siggy, not Kharn
no no. Khârn whooped him at the Siege of Terra.
@@rustkarl Yeah forgot about that, although wasn't Sigismund really outnumbered there until Dorn showed up?
@@jakegilbert9795 It was actually Kharn that was outnumbered, he hulk jumped over the Imperial Fists line and was pretty much surrounded when his fight with Siggy started. Abaddon had to charge the Fists himself to stop Kharn's Leroy Jenkins impersonation from getting him killed.
Heh... Well, Kharn's Horus Heresy special rules by Forge World include Rampage, if I recal correctly... So he gets 1d3 extra attacks while being outnumbered. Not something you can get while fighting Sigismund one on one. Plus, you add two extra attacks from Rage the World Eaters get, factor in Hatred, his Weapon Skill of 8 while in a challenge, World Eaters special re-roll of 1's on to-wound rolls, Kharn's attack stat of four, a +1 strenght AP2 axe, etc. and so on to get a blender that's a wee bit too hard to not die to.
I thought Commander Farsight was going to be here but what you have chosen is pretty cool.
Unfortunately, Farsight hasn't made enough of a name for himself yet to compete with the other characters on this list.
6:24 "I mean that he can block, strike and parry all in one move. Sounds impossible, right?"
Let me introduce you to the art of fencing by Johannes Liechtenauer ...
It's odd that the necrons don't have any notable duelists. After all, they fought krorks and eldar and they DO use melee.
They are also robots, making them naturally fast, accurate and powerful.
Even on tabletop they are kind of ass at melee
@@baldrodinnson4468 The problem is that if game rules were lore accurate, only Necrons would win. They fought Krorks back in the day. Maybe they're still rebooting, I dunno.
Or maybe they're in safe mode lol.
@@coadacatalin4510 you're totally right, but I feel like the only reason they stood a chance against the krorks is BECAUSE they are so shooty.
@@baldrodinnson4468 Who knows what crazy weapons they had in those days...
Its actually totally possible to sword strike an opponent that blocks an attack and attacks at the same time, all you have to do is align the edge of your blade to the trajectory of their blade, while ensuring that at least the tip of your blade hits a weak point in the opponents armor. Its a complex move that I've only seen experts pull off. you can see it happen in fencing rarely

While probably not fitting for this list, necessarily, I do think that Marshal Amalrich from the Fall of Cadia also deserves some serious recognition. The guy's just a normal dude compared to all the others on here, yet managed to duel Skarbrand for minutes in a 1v1, then landed a blow nasty enough to allow Guilliman to get the kill on Skarbrand which he otherwise wouldn't have been able to.

I personally find it always pretty sad that nobody puts Drazhar on this kind of lists... the poor dude is totally underrated
Eldrad ? The silent king ? The swarmlord ?
Surprised u didn’t do 8 in honour of Khorne, the god of war
Remember kids there are 500 million habitable worlds in our Galaxy alone, emperor knows how many more badass fighters are out there.
Interesting list, personally I have Sevatar over Kharn, at least in 30k. 40k Kharn fighting anyone is a tossup and can often just depend on the writer at the time and how much plot armor is needed/if they have a way to survive and come back from being killed. I'd put Drazhar and/or Lucius over Lelith as well, but I might be under-estimating them. Good job on the treatment of Abaddon though, honestly under rated and one of the best fighters in the setting.
Acquire a phone you don’t have the pass code too… lol majorkill a real one out here helping with the finesse

can we have top 7 personalities or character arcs in 40k?
So I think I actually know the none lore reason why Abaddon got beat by Eldrad. In like 2004 or something when I was young and super into Warhams, there was a White Dwarf issue announcing the then release of the then Eye of Terror Campaign. As was the tradition then there was a battle report between a newly released Abaddon led chaos army and the new Ulthwe Army (well Ulthwe wasn't new, but they got some rules where previously there were no craftworld specific rules). Usually with these Battle Reports the star new release army (in this case Abaddon as the new big model release) wins.
Well this time the Eldar player completely outplayed the Chaos player at every turn. By turn 5 it was basically all over. The Chaos player responded by charging Abaddon into the Seer Council as a hail mary (IIRC though he couldn't have taken Eldrad down like mathematically, but there was nothing left to do at that point), but alas the dice turned against him and Abaddon got narrowly murked by Eldrad (though Eldar would have won regardless), turning a well fought Eldar victory into a complete blowout.
Anyway this battle report was greatly enjoyed, and from what I recall that's where the popularity of Eldrad beat Abaddon started and I guess GW wrote it into lore. And I'm happy to see that 20 years later this is still official lore cos that was a good battle report - esp considering most of the actual Eye Of Terror campaign that followed it got retconned (IIRC the actual results of that campaign were: Chaos won but Cadia held. And to be fair back in the day at least, none Space Marines players were just a helluva lot better than the Space Marines players on average so that was a well deserved victory for Chaos campaign wise).
“Juiced to the gills” ah, so you watch Derek too
A man of culture I see
