Thats really impressive. I haven't done one that quiz in a while but I would probably only get around 300, maybe 400. About half would be from California alone, a good portion would be from the rest from the US, and the last bit would be worldwide. I need to practice more worldwide cities but know an insane amount of cities in my state of California haha.
i wish i put this much effort in learning foreign languages. if you are able to do 500+ cities, i should be able to do 500+ vocabulary

For the US I know lots in California because I have some family there and spend time on Google Earth exploring California!
