    Bargello must be in the air! I've been playing with this technique as an alternative to using my scrap in Natasha beads and Damascus canes. I've been making a tight swirled roll of the scraps before putting them through the pasta machine so my stripes are well-defined. I love your technique as well. it gives me a more organic option.

    Hi Cindy! The name "Bargello" originates from the Palazza Bargello, now a museum of arts, in Florence, Italy. There is a type of embroidery work in this palace, that is the source of the "bargello-technique".

    Oooo! This looks so cool. I have noticed that this pattern is very popular with like the boho and festival fashions. If you could make a big one and put it on maybe like a gold or like antiqued looking necklace chain it would look so amazing! I'm going to try it out once I have enough scraps.

    Love the Bargello technique, so pretty :) And my daughter caught sight of that adorable little Enchanted Rose in the background and wants to know if it is like Belle's rose, and did you make it? If so, please teach it soon, my daughter wants one sooo much. Your videos are always so clear to follow and my projects always work when I follow them.

    This is really interesting. Thank you. Can I ask a question? I note that the idea is to use up scrap clay. If your scrap clay is a mixture of different makes and types of clay, ie. sculpey + fimo, can you mix those together. I understand the manufacturers would say not, but would I really get into too much trouble?

    • @PolymerClayTutor
      @PolymerClayTutor  8 лет назад

      Some people mix clay, but I don't like to. Not because the company said so... I don't care what they think about that. But more because of the difference in qualities and baking temps between brands. Some clays are pretty similar in baking temps and ingredients like Premo and Souffle for example and I have no issue mixing them. Others are too far apart like Fimo and Kato for example and I wouldn't trust that either clay would be properly baked if they were in the same piece.

    • @mariecochlan664
      @mariecochlan664 8 лет назад +1

      That's really helpful Cindy. That's just the kind of trouble I meant. I will watch out for the baking instructions on the packet. I'm new to polymer and I have been finding your videos extremely helpful. Thank you so much. Marie x

    hey! love your videos, im a newbie with clay but have been a cake decorator for years so have the tools atleast. only think I don't have and was wondering, what brand is the cutting board you are using? it's perfect size and seems to work well with your clay. also, do you remember the store you got it from, if it's a larger name store (we are lacking most names in hawaii)? thank you so much, sorry it's not a question about the technique :P

    Do you know how to make ball joints in polymer clay so that you could make a bjd doll?

    • @PolymerClayTutor
      @PolymerClayTutor  8 лет назад +1

      Hi Amanda, I am sorry, I have not made dolls in polymer clay yet. (There are so many things that can be done with the stuff, isn't there?) I think that maybe +SugarCharmShop may have done a video, but I am not sure. If you type Ball Jointed Dolls Polymer into the RUclips search bar, you should be able find something that will help. Good luck!

    • @vkkidz4life
      @vkkidz4life 8 лет назад +1

      it depends on the scale of your bjd but if you are doing a smaller scale you can use a polymer clay bead roller. that way they are all the same size and shape.

      Mary Jackson I got mine from American Science and Surplus, but most craft stores carry them, as well as art sites like Dick Blick

      I got mine at Michael's arts and crafts store. I tried to get it in Walmart but it was way over priced. I googled it at first, then did the search through different stores around the area.

    REALLY basic request....can you show how to get a large flat sheet of clay pressed in the pasta machine? i know they wont come out perfect, and you can cut them to make a perfect sheet, but every time i try its not anything near to a sheet of clay. they come out totally mishapen and cant even be cut into a nice sheet. lol. thank you!!

    • @PolymerClayTutor
      @PolymerClayTutor  8 лет назад

      Try holding your fingers on either side of the clay sheet to control it. I show this in my Skinner Blend and Teardrop Blend videos. That may help.
