Having convinced myself that I couldn't function without my meds, this message was just what I needed to do to change that mindset and I have no doubt now that I can and will!
Ofa atu Stanley, thanks for keeping it real and sharing your struggles brutha. The Savior's light saves all mankind if we but ask him for his help. Peace
I can sympathize SO much with this man. I could easily have ended up on the same road (being a chronic pain patient the doctors have tried to put on opiates, but I refused, knowing the dosages would be dangerous and provide but little help to me). Sadly, when it comes to chronic pain, I've found the cure to be worse than the disease. My heart goes out to anyone else who walks the same road!
sorry to hear about your chronic pain. it is no fun. ice baths work for me. also, i have this muscle stimulator thing that makes little shocks in my body. it's nice. there is still help out there, that don't involve opiates.
Life is a struggle but if we use our tools we learned in recovery one day at a time .I was ADDICTED to PILLS taking up to 20 a day been sober now 7 years.
Wow, thank you for sharing your story. You're very brave, and inspiring. I hope your relationship with our Heavenly Father continues to grow each day. Blessings!
Dear wives...threatening divorce is not helpful for addicts. If you make a covenant...as long as your life is not in danger, you should do your best to keep it, and keep your side of the street clean. Change takes time.
"And now, my brethren, I desire that ye shall plant this word in your hearts, and as it beginneth to swell even so nourish it by your faith. And behold, it will become a tree, springing up in you unto everlasting life. And then may God grant unto you that your burdens may be light, through the joy of his Son. And even all this can ye do if ye will. Amen." - Alma 33:23 (The Book of Mormon)
Tyson fury tells similar story,, addicted to cocaine and booze and falling to his knees crying as our lord lifted everything from his shoulders when he stood up,,rest history.
