- I packed a float tube into a couple of alpine lakes to go after some chunky fish. It was fairly fast action using multiple flies on a midge tip line. I ended up with a lot of trout in the net
You literally are a natural anxiety reliever for me. Thank you for making these videos!
Haha, well I'm glad you enjoy them.
Thats a great little lake. I didn't make it there this year so now I'm looking a memorial weekend. Thats seems soooooo far away. LOL!!!
It is a great little lake. I hope to make it back there sometime in the spring as well.
I love the golden aspens amongst the dark pines. Combine that with the calm lake and beautiful water color, as well as multiple fish, makes for one awesome setting.
That lake is definitely not hurting when it comes to scenery
Trout Howler! Awesome as always. Thank you again! Jim
I had a great time. I actually caught way more than I put in the video. Never did hook one of the monsters but it was still a blast
It was fun fishing with you guys. You'll eventually get your tiger
You know it's a high percentage day when the cutts won't let your fly sink. Looks like a blast.
It was a lot of fun. You have to love the fast action days
That used to be my favorite lake on the mountain.
It had little fish for many years but now its back
Howler... Sure enjoyed your video. I'd say that's a heck of a good day of trout fishing up there on that walk in lake. I hope you don't mind but I have a suggestion on an inexpensive little item that makes getting the hook out really quick and simple. The Ketchum Release tool really works. Eliminates having to your forceps or pliers and is really good to the fish. I use the Medium and that size is a good one for almost all flies including beaded ones. I have mine attached by velcro to my net on a little Zipper so it's always right there where you need it. Other than using it I have no connection to the Ketchum outfit. Man those lepard trout are something!
That's funny, a guy at the local fly shop was just telling about that release tool a couple days ago. I'll have to look into it
Look like a great day on the water. Keep up the good work.
It was a fun trip. The following day was equally fun.
Two at a time is nerve-wracking. When was this?
You have to love the doubles. It was a couple months ago
Nice! I did a trip there this summer, a fantastic little spot. The chironomid frenchie and damsel by FFF have been money for me anywhere. That water always looks good and full, it must be spring fed? BTW have you considered Argentina w FFF?
I would love to fish in Argyland. I lived there for a couple of years long ago and have always wanted to go back. It's pricey to go down there though.
Well done friend!
It was fun. I had a blast the following day going after brookies as well.
Hey Man. I rally solo a lot too. Let’s collaborate in 2020. Already thinking about ice off!
I too am already thinking about ice off. It's always a good time.
Great video... The fish were hungry! :) Started wondering about halfway through the video if you donated your net to the lake. ;)
I almost did donate my net on that trip. Fortunately my net semi floats. 👍
Incredible
I feel like it was 😊 There's no shortage of fish there.
First! Awesome stuff! 👌
Man you were on it .I posted it, went and grabbed a soda out of the fridge and there was your comment went I sat back down
Dang that vid smacked dude fishing season is done here guess I will just have to watch all your videos to compromise!
Haha, that trip was a couple months ago. That lake probably has at least 6 inches of ice by now
Thanks for another great video of nice trout. Curious...all these little lakes you fish, are they natural or man-made?
Most are natural lakes. Some were natural lakes that they made bigger with dams.
KJ - I'm about due for a new float tube. Since this video is highlighting float tubing, what brand/model do you use and do you like it? Any suggestions/thoughts if you were in the market for a new one?
The one I have been using is an off brand called the GoPlus. They are currently $139 on amazon. Theres another brand Lazzo that has one for $117 which is the exact same tube with a different name on it. It's been a good tube so far. I was concerned about the bladder material at first because it's just vinyl like swimming pool floaties but so far it's held up. My buddy has the Classic Accessories Cumberland float tube. It's a good tube but has gone up in price like everything else. It was around $160 and now goes for $200
@@TroutHowler Thanks so much for the share. I hope some others will chime in to this thread - there's got to be lots of opinions out there from float tubers. Thanks.
Hey that's where I caught my first tiger trout ever!
There's some mega fatties in there currently. I failed to catch any but they are there
