You could do a 1st look of Lydia seeing Trace and him being blindfolded so he gets the 1st look coming down the isle and you still get before wedding photos together

  • @melissavalentine6168

Regarding the first look vs. seeing each other for the first time as you walk down the isle…. I struggled with this and eventually settled on walking down the isle to him ALONE before the wedding. So we have the specific moment of walking for the isle in the church but it was just the two of us (plus photographer). It was probably my favorite moment. I don’t regret it.

Sparkler Caution…several years ago my cousin was a bridesmaid in a wedding. Their hair had been styled and sprayed with hairspray, they all had sparklers sending the bride and groom off…sparks from one of the sparklers set her hair on fire and she received major burns and had to be hospitalized. Just and FYI.
I enjoy your videos..and sending a lifetime of best wishes and blessings to you both.

At my wedding 14 years ago my husband saw me for the 1st time walking down the aisle and I didn’t get to see his reaction liked I hoped because so much is going on. So if I could have a do over I would do the first look and share that moment with my husband and capture it on camera all as well. 💖

Just a suggestion: Guy Fieri from Food Network spent probably a month in The Big Island in Hawaii. He LITERALLY went everywhere and did EVERYTHING!!!! I am so excited for you both, I am really happy to hear the wedding video will be up as soon as possible, also I think it is so much more special to see the bride the first time while walking down the isle, I also think that if it is a Big wedding the time for pictures will be ok, because it will take time for all the guest to arrive to the reception, on your honeymoon you could do para sailing , horseback riding, and don’t forget a Luau.

  • @smartgrandma

Before you know it, it will be your wedding day! This is all so exciting! My hubby and I will be celebrating our 47th wedding anniversary in September. We keep saying that we don't know where all those years went! Time flies, for sure. I know that you will always keep Christ as an important member of your family. This will make such a bright light in your lives. You will love Hawaii for your honeymoon. Make time to go to see the Arizona Memorial. It is very touching an emotional, but it's a must see. I prayed for those heroes that were killed there at Pearl Harbor for quite a while, and I noticed all of the other tourists were praying, as well. Enjoy making all these memories together as you approach your wedding day, your honeymoon, and your lifetime together. As senior citizens someday, you will appreciate the effort you made to remember your blessed memories. Praying for you both and your future together.....

I went to both Oahu and Kaui, one week on each island. I was at a timeshare which was so fun! Kaui was amazing; gorgeous hikes! Oahu's ocean was so wild. I would not go into the water, but it was beautiful. Yes, as Lydia said, it is so relaxing and peaceful. During the day, it had a rain shower and a rainbow, and it was beautiful. Very clean compared to Los Angeles! Downtown Oahu was so clean, that I couldn't get over it.

Have to swim behind the waterfall, also the sunset catamaran ride up the NāPali coast was AMAZING. Kauai is the Garden Island. My favorite island.

The first look is a very intimate time alone(for the most part) together to pray and just reflect. Yes it's a great way to get photos with just you both together. And it doesn't take away from the walk down the isle. My husband and I had a first look(it went horrible because he was with his groomsmen and they told him not to look so it ruined it!) So make sure youre for sure alone!

If you are going to Kauai or Maui here are some of the things we did. We spent 1 week in Kauai where we took a helicopter ride and saw many beautiful waterfalls, boat ride, snorkeling (the water is so pretty) . At one end of the island is the rainforest (where we stayed) and the other end is like going to the Grand Canyon. Take a hike to the Grotto where many weddings are performed or hike in the canyon. Go see a luau they are fun and the pig roast is great, the show is awesome. The best restaurant we ate at was the Princeville Hotel located on the rainforest side, beautiful views and delicious food. It is a little pricey but worth it. The 2nd week we stayed in Maui. There is lots to do there too. We took a submarine down to the bottom of the ocean and saw some fish wasn’t as great as I’d hoped but still worth it cause you don’t know what you’ll see. Went sailing on the ocean and that was a really exciting experience but well worth it. You should take either a tour through Hana or rent a 4-wheel vehicle the road is rough and narrow in some spots but the views are breathtaking. There are many pineapple stands as you drive around Maui, stop and buy some pineapple the locals will love you. There is a pineapple plantation that is worth seeing. Also don’t miss the black beach and the black lava rocks. We did a luau here too. It was a little different from Kauai’s luau. You can take a helicopter ride over a volcano that hasn’t been active in over a hundred years. I don’t remember the name of the restaurant in Maui we ate at but it was a seafood restaurant along the coastline with a beautiful sunset over the ocean while we ate on the open lanai. Our last part of our trip was in Honolulu where we visited Pearl Harbor. Beautiful memorial but sad also. Whatever you do I’m sure you will have great memories to look back on. May God bless your future life together.

I haven't watched yet ( I like to read comments first) so Idk if you are having a reception after the wedding. Ig you are I recommend someone fix y'all a plate of food ( closer to the end unless you are having it catered and everyone eats at the same time ) because the wedding couple usually get all caught up in mingling and talking with everyone, that they don't take time to eat. Then when they leave they're hungry after.

ideas to do in Hawaii - if you are On Oahu island you need to experience Polynesian Cultural Center - it so worth the money and time and you learn about the different cultures that is Hawaiian. Also explore the North Shore as its very different than the south portion of Honolulu. If you plan to go to Maui - need to experience the drive to Hana as it's very different climates. If you go to the Big Island you need to check out the lava near Kona.

I loved what Trace's mom shared about contentment at the wedding shower. Got tears. Been married 48 years and that is just so true what she said. God Bless You both as you enter into marriage.

If you’re going to Maui, make sure to eat at Mama’s fish house (must make reservations 90 days in advance or u probably won’t get in). Biking down the volcano, sunrise at the volcano, road to Hana, and snorkeling/snuba to Molokini / turtle town are all amazing!

We didn’t do a first look and his expression when I walked down the aisle was priceless. I think either way you’ll have the moment you want

On the Big Island go night snorkeling with Manta Rays - in January we went with the company Sea Paradise and it was such a phenomenal experience! Also visit the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and make dinner reservations (after sunset) at the Volcano House (you can even stay the night there) to see the lava glow!
On the island of Oahu visit the north shore - it's amazing up there. And go to Tuo Luau. It's a family run luau in the heart of Waimea valley. Tickets to the luau give you entrance to Waimea Valley and after a paved path hike, you come to a beautiful waterfall where you can swim in the waterfall! I highly recommend doing both of those in one day.

Hawaii is the best! I went to Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island a couple of years ago and it was so beautiful. Pearl Harbor was so neat to see, and you def have to eat malasadas! Maui is my FAVORITE though. Go on the road to Hana!! And if you want, try and do a day pass if they have it at the Grand Wailea. Tons of water slides and pools, and you for sure have to splurge on a spa treatment. It’s one of the best spas in the world. Can’t wait to go there with my husband some time-we went to Punta Cana on our honeymoon last year :) Also if you’re changing your name Lydia, do misstomrs or miss now mrs (can’t remember). So easy! Worth the money :)

I visited Kawaii and it’s gorgeous. Be careful of the sun! Pre-tan if you can. Yeah, yeah, tan bad - but there’s no way to avoid the sun there and you don’t wanna burn to a crisp day 1. Luau nights are a must. They’re a wee bit cheesy most of the time and expensive but come on, you’re in Hawaii
