- EP147: Farnborough Airshow Day 2 - I get inside the Airbus A220 cockpit and economy class cabin, watch an AN-124 departing, see Diamond Aircraft's DA-42s, helicopters, and hang with Jon, RUclips's 'The Flying Reporter'. Also see the HiFly Airbus A380 with Mirpuri Foundation Coral Reef livery.
I'm vlogging at the Farnborough International Airshow, covering the commercial aircraft and air displays at this fantastic aviation event. If you love aviation and travel and are new to the channel, welcome, be sure to SUBSCRIBE for regular flying and travel videos.

Thanks Stef for another excellent video. You manage to really capture the feeling of being at an airshow.
Cheers Michael, I love being at airshows so it's great to record and produce these videos to share the fun. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it, stef 👍
What an awesome video Stef, your videos are getting better and better!!
The warning "Today's episode may contain helicopters!" is awesome! This video's way of filming plus editing is AWESOME!
Great going from your Channel to Flying Reporter ✈️
The Antonov is unbelievable .. looking forward to the weekend as well :)
Your videos of Farnborough and air show in Florida are my fav. Love the way you gave a shoutout yesterday to air mobility
Great video Stefan. Good to see you and John collaborating. I subscribe to his channel and love the content. Love the content of your videos to. Looking forward to day 3!
Thanks Ashley, yeah Jon has become a good friends as well as a fellow RUclipsr. His content is fantastic I agree. Thanks for leaving that comment.

Amazing video! I love the HiFly A380 special livery and A220
Sweet another cool video thanks stef wish I could be there looks like fun 😁👍
Love seeing behind the scenes
Enjoying the content mate :) keep up the good Vlogging !!!!
Nice video mate. Thoroughly enjoying them.
Great content as always. I really must get myself back home to Kent and see Farnborough or Biggin Hill Airshow's again.
Thanks Lee, yeah I was at the Biggin Hill airshow last year which was a lot of fun. It's a great time of year in the UK for airshows, hope you get down to one soon.
Keep up the good work. Love the airshow videos
Enjoying your videos from Farnborough!
Another video to like. The coral reefs livery is absolutely stunning. I'm surprised how un-busy a giant airshow like that was. I guess the thundering herds will descend on the weekend.
It was like my own private airshow, but yes this weekend is going to be a very different matter I’m sure. If I come out alive, I’ll post another vlog on the public day shortly.
Airbaltic flying those A220-300 9 already
The HiFly A380 in the Coral Reefs livery looks great! Who would have thought the CEO of an airline would be so paitionate about the environment?
It would be great to see you do a Helicopter TIF, to see what they can do.
OMG had I knew you were there I was totally gonna come up and say hi!
Great video again as usual. Maybe give the ppl planes like diamond miore exposure. Love to see them in more detail next time. G’day mate🐨
Another awesome video! Saw you on the television last night!! Big like👍
Super video as was yesterday’s. Love the enthusiasm it’s very entertaining.
Good thanks
Loving the Farnborough coverage. How did you manage to get a trade pass to the show?
Love the video, I'm going to travel with the 737 in two days, keep it up 😉😉
Great coverage and so glad to see Jon!
Thanks MoT, yeah it was great hanging with him, we had a fun day.
Going down this weekend - hopefully there's still a lot leftover and the aircraft companies haven't completely abandoned the place by then.
Great footage! Didn't know you are friends with the flying reporter, great stuff!
Thank you. Yeah Jon and I have flown together a few times now. Always try and catch up when I'm back in the UK.
Great job👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Ronald, great to have you along for the ride.
fantastic video keep it up Stefan!
Thanks Max 👍
I know right! A350 is mind blowing!
The display, especially that steep take-off angle and the slow flight, was really impressive.
Worth the ‘Waterloo’ wait Stef 😂
The LADY at @6:44 was so awkward!!! haha She went like WHOOOPSSS better duck and cover.
Great coverage of the aviation Stef. How is the coffee situation?
I'll be there on Saturday. Hopefully see you around 👍
Love the videos. Your not heading to airventure next by chance?
I have always wondered about these planes that have three seats on one half of the aisle and only two seats on the other half of the aisle. How is it possible to seat people in this configuration when weight and balance is critical to every aircraft? I can't imagine how much extra weight is on the one side of the aircraft if you consider how many extra passengers and carry-on luggage are offset to the one side of the aircraft. Does anyone know why/how they balance the aircraft with the seating configuration?
Steve Jones w&b is more critical the longer the arm is from center. Since the aisle is almost right on the center of the plane it doesnt make a huge difference. Balance along the longitudinal axis has more effect. On top of that the aircraft can be trimmed out to fly straight with such a small force difference. If you had all the weight in the tail and nothing up front you would have a problem. Having the center aisle seat being a few inches offset wont effect balance that much.
If the a220 has three seats on one side and two on the other, how does weight and balance work?
Richard Spacer lateral weight and balance hardly affected
Why no inside tour of the A380 would have been lovely
Sadly I couldn't get onboard the A380, and on the Saturday (next video) it was open for a short time but the queues were very long so I couldn't get inside.
What happened with the helicopter ?
The A220 what variant of Bombardier is it? A regional jet model?
brad well it's is actually the bombardier CS300 just renamed & repainted
Public transport access from London to Farnborough ?
Planty3125 direct train from Waterloo or clapham junction, London, takes about 40 mins
2:37 are we all just going to ignore that his thumbs aren't even touching his screen?
Can you do a regional express (REX) flight review.
Would love to, I think I need to do an "Regional Week" series on the channel, see if I can do a lap of the country on regional airlines only...
@@StefanDrury cool
Bom-Bar-Dee-Ay
Hi Stefan. The aircraft company is pronounced "Bom-bar-de-ayy" rather than "Bom-bar-deer", which is the pronunciation of the military rank. I believe it's because the company was founded by a French Canadian.
I've heard both TBH! I totally get your point though with the French Canadian background of the company, but have heard people say it both ways. Gah, who knows?!
No sunscreen today!!!! ☹️
He meant to say bombardier CS300 not Airbus A220
Francis Fernandes It's A220. Go do research maybe...
Harry Parkin & Andrew Anane you know under that Airbus paint is the CS300
Francis Fernandes Under Airbus paint is A220. Airbus had acquired 51% of Cseries now period. Stop with your childishness.
Andrew Anane it's 50.1% and Airbus just repainted a Bombardier CSeries lol
Francis Fernandes Yeah 50.1%. And it is not just repainted. It has been rebranded and it's an Airbus plane now. Airbus is gonna manufacturer and sell it from now on.
How do you make out you know what you are talking about?
Aeroplane geeks blood is the colour of Avgas, isn’t that right Stef LOL
Surely even if airbus has 51% of bombardier and is going to make it their own . It still can't be a real Airbus if the whole plane is manufactured by bombardier. There is no Airbus parts used. Hmmm???
Helicopter is a mistake.
