Great explore and fab drone footage of the Llangollen area. Loved the shot of Dinas Bran, the ruined castle on the hill. I last stayed in the Royal in 2018 and the last owners had let it get too shabby and hadn't properly invested in it. Now it stands empty because modernising it would cost too much. Shame because it's a lovely building.

Does not take long for a building to start falling apart, when the heating and maintenance is stopped, huge place, Convid put and end to hundreds like this, no people, no money , no business..nice one guys, greatly enjoyed...

There is planning permission going on for renovation and downsizing. Planning: Tear down extension that was build in the 1960s and replace it with appartments to either rent out of sell. Revamp the rest of the hotel and remodel / get rid of the inner yard.
I stayed there years ago when it was owned by trust house forte, it was a really nice hotel, I can't believe the state it's in. The amount of tourists round there they must've been doing something seriously wrong for it to go tits up.

It's too busy now even in the winter months.
Summer is utterly unbearable.
There is such a thing as too much tourism.
The few locals that haven't migrated from Cheshire and Merseyside are all bitter and resentful and of an evening all the feral youths are out on the streets running riot.

Been to Llangollen back in 2013/2014 went to the castle up on the hill well what’s left off it and did some rock climbing
I have been to Llangollen 2 or 3 times already. Been on the steam train. And I am from Germany. It is a nice place.

Places like that will close down, as these days they have become kind of corporate run, like everyone wants a piece but puts nothing in, so any profits are milked off so no investment or up keep money left in the kitty.
