Good updates yeah I get drop off every summer bad then it picks back up around now sometime lol and in summer it will drop again the life of a small youtube channel
I have noticed a drop in the fall and the spring but this time it dropped pretty sharply so I was concerned. It just seems with money tight and folks busy it is just not enough time to sit around watching videos! I get it and will just keep doing what I do and see what happens!

I do love the truck but they did mess up with the body a little. I had a good run with the stock one but flopping it from the jumps on the faster power took its toll on it! The new body looks cool on it and I just stuck the wheels and tires from a Granite on there to see how they will perform. looks like a completely different truck now!
Thanks! It really transformed the look of the truck a lot! It turned out pretty cool and should hold up a lot better to the rough and tumble life it has now! There is a perpetual backlog here now I think, definitely not a bad thing to have!
I think your views are really great. My friend Dave at Perth West said he's seeing a drop off in everything too especially comments that he also made a community post asking to make sure his subs are getting notifications. This is usually the best time of the year for my channel because so much of what I review are popular as Xmas gifts. My channel views will double over the next month and then fall off a cliff on Jan. Thankfully you get a lot of views from your subs which I don't. I think your views do great compared to most RC channels of similar size. Just shows that sub count means nothing so I don't get why there's channels that buy fake subs. Anyway, awesome projects as usual. Can't wait to see it all.
Yeah I know this time of the years things taper off and it is not until Jan/Feb when things start to pick back up. It just fell off much more than in years past but I am sure less people are watching and folks are just busy taking care of other things with the change in the seasons. I'm gonna keep doing what I do and see what happens!
The chassis went together very well, fun build. The body was not had either but taping off the separation from the white and the blue was a bit tricky in spots to get the tape, your fingers and see where the tape needs to go all in the same spot! Two of the 3 would work but adding the third part in just ruined it! LOL! Thankfully it is not critical to line it up perfectly.
@AddamsPlayground I am really intrigued with the "problem solving" aspect of the hobby. Not all of us can be Wade Skelton.... lol. Specifics are indeed my favorite (I hope that some of that makes sense)

Yeah the Porsche should look pretty slick with all the decals on it. I am going to try to get it done this week so I an get it out to a parking lot this weekend for a drive, that is the plant at least! I was lucky with the Gorgon body until it took a couple hard roof landings and it finally gave up! The truck body should take a lot more of a beating and hopefully I can stop flopping it on its roof as well! LOL!
The 956 is a big thing! The bodt and chassis sitting side by side look like they don't go together, the chassis is so much smaller! Once it is on there is looks proper and should look great with the decals on it!
Thanks Mark! The new body turned out cool and it should hold up to the bad landings a bit better than the stock one. Sadly the stock bodies were a weak part of those trucks. Mine held up to normal tumbles and rollovers but the jumping and bad landing took its toll on it quickly!
Thanks! It definitely changes the look of the truck completely! The metallic green is a cool color, it worked well with the color shift paint too. It looks wildly different in real life, the camera struggles with the color shift a bit.

The 956 is both really cool and a little odd at the same time. With the chassis and body together they look great. With them apart they do not look like they go together, the chassis is so much smaller then the body! I am sure it will drive very nice and look fabulous once I get the decals on it! Have fun with yours!!!

Awesome update Addam! Not a big fan of the Gorgon but it does look really good with that Proline body on it! Currently working on my Porsche 956, or at least I will be at the weekend, picked it up yesterday and I can’t wait to get started!!👍👍

The 956 was a fun build, the chassis goes together really quick and easy. The tires are the pain part! Taping the body lines off was a bit of challenge but thankfully you do not have to be ultra precise!

LOL, If we are going by that math I may not ever leave the house again! LOL! I am also cutting things on the laser cutter for Christmas so I am splitting RC time and burnt plywood smell time! JK, I have the fumes venting out of the garage! I need to protect the few brains cells left that are not wandering around aimlessly up there!

I seen the Hornet Evo in Jpan on pre sale for 165,000 yen or 165 AUD and the Porsche was sold out and was on 157 AUD just over 100 USD so cheap but I missed out this time on those.
The Porsche seemed to be a big hit and was not bad here, I think it was $156. The Hornet Evo is really cool and I am looking forward to getting that built and drive it, it will be cool to see a hornet running around without the rear end jumping around! It was not bad either, $167 for it. Hopefully there will be another round of the Porsche kits and you can sang one!
@AddamsPlayground I will end up getting them both, these prices are Australian dollar not USD so 50% cheaper. Which is crazy because USA Tamiya is so expensive but shipping isn't that much in bulk. It's like the JDM car market the prices are ridiculous in the States now. Anyway enjoy your new beast.

Yeah the 956 is a big body car! It is kind of funny as when the two are together they seem right but when you take the body off an set it beside the chassis the chassis looks way too small for ad like they shouldn't go together! I have been cranking out stuff on the laser cutter for Christmas so the RC stuff has slowed a bit but I am still working on stuff. The replacement body worked out well and I like the flip flop paint, it is a weird one to use though! Spraying what looks clear and then backing it with black it comes alive! I am really looking forward to the Evo, I think it will be a cool build and a lot of fun driving it without the rear end stepping out all the time! The original will still have its charm but to have a performance model is going to be pretty slick!

The incredible bulk! I liked the stock body (the black version at least) but the new body certainly makes it a whole different truck! It should be a good bit tougher as well. Lots of stuff coming up and I need to get some stuff on video and edited, running behind on that recently. I am looking forward to the Evo, it will be weird having a Hornet driving around without the rear end chatter about! I don't blame you at all for not wanting to run your original, they are know to be a bit fragile these days! I look forward to building that one and giving it at least one run around. Yeah, I know there is usually a dip in the fall and spring as people are busy doing things and don't have the free time to sit around watching YT. It was just concerning as it fell off sharply and I just wanted to check to see if I was not doing enough or too much of things. Thankfully it seems it is mostly just not enough time and I completely understand that! I have been fighting the autumn leaf battle hard the last 3 or 4 weeks!!! I also understand the easily distracted thing as well, I live my life flitting from one distraction to the next! LOL!
Oh, that sounds really slick! That combo would make a great platform for a "Late-night Bumpkin" truck! One of the ideas I have for the Midnight Pumpkin to make it a rusted up old moonshine runner truck!

It's nice to just have the storytelling bit and not really need to pay attention to a specific car... Except for the Gorgon, I don't think any of those you spoke of today have particular interest to me, but nice to hear you are having a good time! So this is of course also a comment to that post the other day, you mentioned, I had failed to comment on it. I did vote, and I was one of the many who just haven't got the time, so it sucks to have to consciously sometimes skip watching videos. And on the other end of it, I also don't manage to make any videos myself either. Autumn just sucks. Anyway, have a good one, buddy, it'll be summer again at some point, he he!
Yeah, I know folks are busy taking care of winter prep and lot of commitments otherwise I am used to a overall drop in the spring and the fall but this year it seemed rather drastic compared to years past. I just wanted to make sure it was not something I was doing or not doing making folks tune out. I completely understand the lack of time and even the seasonal depression kicking in. Lots of folks hate the cold, I love it but we do not get the cold and snow like you guys so it may be different for me in your neck of the woods! Take care my friend and I always enjoy seeing you pop up in the comments but no worries, I will still be cranking two video out a week so there will be plenty of chances once things slow down for you and everyone else!
For the price they are a super great deal! My LHS has the truck alone (no battery) for $140 right not, loads of fun for that price for sure! The bodies are the weak link in them but with a set of Granite body mounts ($9) and and a new body ($35-40) it is still a good deal! They handle the brushless power very well and are Arrma tough for sure!
Last The Porsche looks fast just sitting there I love the tires on the Gorgon Did I hear you're taking the motor out of the Gorgon hint hint I love the hulk joke Thank you for the MRC update I am currently changing over the stock linkage on the Traxxas X-Maxx to aluminum because the servo saver is weak and it makes giant turns I tried to tighten it down and the bolt just pulled through the plastic hopefully replacing it with aluminum allows it to drive as good as the first day I got it
Yes, once I replace the motor I will send you this one. It has gobs of torque but not enough rpms for the gearing on the Gorgon. In the Ryft it felt a lot faster! That's a big project to have on the bench, working on the giants trucks takes up a lot of real-estate!

You have a lot of neat projects. I looked at the replacement bodies for the Gorgon on Tower's site. Only the unpainted version is described as lexan or polycarbonate. The truck body looks good. I like the paint job.
Yeah I looked at the stock body options first but it was either clear (didn't have any inspirational ideas about that) or the full body sets which come with all the plastics and were pricey! I found a video where this was done and I liked the look of the old chevy so i figured why not change it up! It is just the stock Granite body posts and the body is all that is needed to do it. It turned out pretty cool and should be a lot tougher!
I am jealous, retired, last year had plenty of time to run RCs, watch everyone channe, now more time spent with grandchildren. How do you do it? The 956 looks great, and the new body for the Gorgon awesome choice, great paint scheme.
LOL, I just work it into everything else and hope I get things done in time for a video to come out LOL! Mostly it is all about irrational spending and being a big kid that is very content sitting at the workbench for hours if given the chance! The 956 is going to be a great looking car once it is all done, I have still yet sat down and cut out all the decals yet, I have been in Christmas ornament mode lately and my spare time has gone to that stuff. I will get it done in the next day or two as I really do want to see it complete. The Gorgon turned out looking pretty cool and that new body should hold up better to the rough landings! It is a funny car as either the chassis or the body separately or together look great, put them side by side and they look silly and unmatched! The chassis looks so much smaller than the car it makes me laugh! With the body one you cannot tell and it it looks killer! I thought about buying two of both of the buggies but currently the budget is reeling from just buying one at a time of things! LOL! It would be cool to have one prefect in the box for future days!

@ just build the shocks with a thick oil and it will be just the OG hornet 😂 ive got two buggys that are must have’s so need to do some extra overtime to pay for them. Got the jingle bells cup at the end of the month and a weekend racing in Germany next April aswell. Hopefully i become a youtube millionare overnight 😂
What did you use for body posts on the Gorgon? Wifey has the builder's version stashed away for me for christmas so questions like these are already in my mind. I normally don't say something unless I have something to say 😆 I know that doesn't help the algorithm (sorry) but I don't like wasting pixels.
No worries, I appreciate you watching! The body mounts are the stock body mounts for the Granite, they clip into the stock locations on the gorgon with large body clips or you can use the stock gorgon clips. I left the long ones on the gorgon shell just so I would not loose them.

Thanks, the old chevy looks pretty cool on there. I love the Fox, it is such a cool looking buggy! Clods are wonderful trucks, my suggestion is to do stock first and rive it around, then start doing upgrades to it. Nothing compares to a bone stock clod for recreating the old school, original monster trucks from the 80s! They just have the wobble and bobble like those old heavy ones did!!

I enjoy following your channel, particularly the building stuff. I am wondering about building an RC10. I will run it a few times, but mostly it will be for the build. Would it be all right to go with the CC? I see there are deals to be made on those.
Thanks Andy! I am glad you are enjoying it! The only downside to the CC is it is more of a pain to build. The plastic is very grippy on the screws and makes it a chore to build. I used a little shock oil on the treads and it helped a lot making it more enjoyable to build. Others have used taps to precut threads but that seemed risky, I know my luck and I'd snap a tap off in one of the holes LOL! The initial worry was the parts were not being sold as replacements but since there are a lot in stock still spares have become fairly easy to get in case something did break. I would probably recommend the regular version as they are making replacement parts for them now but if you can get a great deal on the CC then why not!
I can't understand why spring and autumn is low view ?? Summer time i understand because of holidays and nice weather. Spring, autumn and winter time is much better viewing time imo. Autumn is the best time for me starting new projects to be ready for next years spring time. Must be an American thing that you have to spend soooo much time with family and friends during autumn :) I have a question about some paint. I have some rims i painted many moons ago with some Tamiya X-xx paint. it is real ugly :) What is preferred method to remove it ?
I think there is just a lot of folks going out and doing outdoor stuff, the change of season means new sports seasons (for kids and pro-sports) and also lots of yard work and prepping for winter going on. It has always fallen off this time of year but this time is more noticeable and abrupt than normal! For stripping paint from wheels I usually use Super Clean all purpose cleaner, it will strip the chrome off of plastic parts and paint as well. If the paint is on white wheels it may stain them a bit. Also leaving them wheels in the Super Clean for too long with tint them a bit purple. You can also use spray on oven cleaner. I have not done that in a long time but I have done it and it did not bother the plastic at all. It may take a few sprays and cleanings to get them back to normal.

Thanks! It definitely changes the look of the truck completely! The metallic green is a cool color, it worked well with the color shift paint too. It looks wildly different in real life, the camera struggles with the color shift a bit.

The 956 is both really cool and a little odd at the same time. With the chassis and body together they look great. With them apart they do not look like they go together, the chassis is so much smaller then the body! I am sure it will drive very nice and look fabulous once I get the decals on it! Have fun with yours!!!

Awesome update Addam! Not a big fan of the Gorgon but it does look really good with that Proline body on it! Currently working on my Porsche 956, or at least I will be at the weekend, picked it up yesterday and I can’t wait to get started!!👍👍
The new body really changes it into a whole new truck! It should hold up a lot better, I did have a good run with the stock one though. The 956 was a fun build, the chassis goes together really quick and easy. The tires are the pain part! Taping the body lines off was a bit of challenge but thankfully you do not have to be ultra precise!

I seen the Hornet Evo in Jpan on pre sale for 165,000 yen or 165 AUD and the Porsche was sold out and was on 157 AUD just over 100 USD so cheap but I missed out this time on those.
The Porsche seemed to be a big hit and was not bad here, I think it was $156. The Hornet Evo is really cool and I am looking forward to getting that built and drive it, it will be cool to see a hornet running around without the rear end jumping around! It was not bad either, $167 for it. Hopefully there will be another round of the Porsche kits and you can sang one!
@AddamsPlayground I will end up getting them both, these prices are Australian dollar not USD so 50% cheaper. Which is crazy because USA Tamiya is so expensive but shipping isn't that much in bulk. It's like the JDM car market the prices are ridiculous in the States now. Anyway enjoy your new beast.

Yeah the 956 is a big body car! It is kind of funny as when the two are together they seem right but when you take the body off an set it beside the chassis the chassis looks way too small for ad like they shouldn't go together! I am looking forward to the Evo and it should be a fun build and drive. It will be odd though to drive a hornet without the rear clanking around!

I was going to use a GT Tuned but Amazon had the SuperStock TZ cheaper than the GT Tuned so it was a no brainer.

I have been cranking out stuff on the laser cutter for Christmas so the RC stuff has slowed a bit but I am still working on stuff. The replacement body worked out well and I like the flip flop paint, it is a weird one to use though! Spraying what looks clear and then backing it with black it comes alive! I am really looking forward to the Evo, I think it will be a cool build and a lot of fun driving it without the rear end stepping out all the time! The original will still have its charm but to have a performance model is going to be pretty slick!

The incredible bulk! I liked the stock body (the black version at least) but the new body certainly makes it a whole different truck! It should be a good bit tougher as well.

Yeah, I know there is usually a dip in the fall and spring as people are busy doing things and don't have the free time to sit around watching YT. It was just concerning as it fell off sharply and I just wanted to check to see if I was not doing enough or too much of things. Thankfully it seems it is mostly just not enough time and I completely understand that! I have been fighting the autumn leaf battle hard the last 3 or 4 weeks!!! I also understand the easily distracted thing as well, I live my life flitting from one distraction to the next! LOL!
I have that same Ford body on a TA02, and it fits great. I did mine like an old fire truck.
Oh, that sounds really slick! That combo would make a great platform for a "Late-night Bumpkin" truck! One of the ideas I have for the Midnight Pumpkin to make it a rusted up old moonshine runner truck!

I did vote, and I was one of the many who just haven't got the time, so it sucks to have to consciously sometimes skip watching videos. And on the other end of it, I also don't manage to make any videos myself either. Autumn just sucks.

Yeah, I know folks are busy taking care of winter prep and lot of commitments otherwise I am used to a overall drop in the spring and the fall but this year it seemed rather drastic compared to years past. I just wanted to make sure it was not something I was doing or not doing making folks tune out. I completely understand the lack of time and even the seasonal depression kicking in. Lots of folks hate the cold, I love it but we do not get the cold and snow like you guys so it may be different for me in your neck of the woods! Take care my friend and I always enjoy seeing you pop up in the comments but no worries, I will still be cranking two video out a week so there will be plenty of chances once things slow down for you and everyone else!

For the price they are a super great deal! My LHS has the truck alone (no battery) for $140 right not, loads of fun for that price for sure! The bodies are the weak link in them but with a set of Granite body mounts ($9) and and a new body ($35-40) it is still a good deal! They handle the brushless power very well and are Arrma tough for sure!

I am currently changing over the stock linkage on the Traxxas X-Maxx to aluminum because the servo saver is weak and it makes giant turns I tried to tighten it down and the bolt just pulled through the plastic hopefully replacing it with aluminum allows it to drive as good as the first day I got it
Yes, once I replace the motor I will send you this one. It has gobs of torque but not enough rpms for the gearing on the Gorgon. In the Ryft it felt a lot faster! That's a big project to have on the bench, working on the giants trucks takes up a lot of real-estate!

You have a lot of neat projects. I looked at the replacement bodies for the Gorgon on Tower's site. Only the unpainted version is described as lexan or polycarbonate. The truck body looks good. I like the paint job.
Yeah I looked at the stock body options first but it was either clear (didn't have any inspirational ideas about that) or the full body sets which come with all the plastics and were pricey! I found a video where this was done and I liked the look of the old chevy so i figured why not change it up! It is just the stock Granite body posts and the body is all that is needed to do it. It turned out pretty cool and should be a lot tougher!
I am jealous, retired, last year had plenty of time to run RCs, watch everyone channe, now more time spent with grandchildren. How do you do it? The 956 looks great, and the new body for the Gorgon awesome choice, great paint scheme.
LOL, I just work it into everything else and hope I get things done in time for a video to come out LOL! Mostly it is all about irrational spending and being a big kid that is very content sitting at the workbench for hours if given the chance!
The 956 is going to be a great looking car once it is all done, I have still yet sat down and cut out all the decals yet, I have been in Christmas ornament mode lately and my spare time has gone to that stuff. I will get it done in the next day or two as I really do want to see it complete. The Gorgon turned out looking pretty cool and that new body should hold up better to the rough landings! The 956 should look really sharp once I can get the decals on it. It is a funny car as either the chassis or the body separately or together look great, put them side by side and they look silly and unmatched! The chassis looks so much smaller than the car it makes me laugh! With the body one you cannot tell and it it looks killer! I thought about buying two of both of the buggies but currently the budget is reeling from just buying one at a time of things! LOL! It would be cool to have one prefect in the box for future days!

There are a dozen cars and trucks I really want right now but I am having to tighten the purse strings a bit more at the moment as well so I totally understand. I look forward to the evo, it should be a fun build and drive so much better. It will be weird though driving a hornet that isn't skittering all around!
@ just build the shocks with a thick oil and it will be just the OG hornet 😂 ive got two buggys that are must have’s so need to do some extra overtime to pay for them. Got the jingle bells cup at the end of the month and a weekend racing in Germany next April aswell. Hopefully i become a youtube millionare overnight 😂

What did you use for body posts on the Gorgon? Wifey has the builder's version stashed away for me for christmas so questions like these are already in my mind.

No worries, I appreciate you watching! The body mounts are the stock body mounts for the Granite, they clip into the stock locations on the gorgon with large body clips or you can use the stock gorgon clips. I left the long ones on the gorgon shell just so I would not loose them.

Thanks, the old chevy looks pretty cool on there. I love the Fox, it is such a cool looking buggy! Clods are wonderful trucks, my suggestion is to do stock first and rive it around, then start doing upgrades to it. Nothing compares to a bone stock clod for recreating the old school, original monster trucks from the 80s! They just have the wobble and bobble like those old heavy ones did!!

I enjoy following your channel, particularly the building stuff. I am wondering about building an RC10. I will run it a few times, but mostly it will be for the build. Would it be all right to go with the CC? I see there are deals to be made on those.
Thanks Andy! I am glad you are enjoying it! The only downside to the CC is it is more of a pain to build. The plastic is very grippy on the screws and makes it a chore to build. I used a little shock oil on the treads and it helped a lot making it more enjoyable to build. Others have used taps to precut threads but that seemed risky, I know my luck and I'd snap a tap off in one of the holes LOL!
The initial worry was the parts were not being sold as replacements but since there are a lot in stock still spares have become fairly easy to get in case something did break. I would probably recommend the regular version as they are making replacement parts for them now but if you can get a great deal on the CC then why not!

Spring, autumn and winter time is much better viewing time imo. Autumn is the best time for me starting new projects to be ready for next years spring time.
Must be an American thing that you have to spend soooo much time with family and friends during autumn :)
I have a question about some paint. I have some rims i painted many moons ago with some Tamiya X-xx paint. it is real ugly :) What is preferred method to remove it ?
I think there is just a lot of folks going out and doing outdoor stuff, the change of season means new sports seasons (for kids and pro-sports) and also lots of yard work and prepping for winter going on. It has always fallen off this time of year but this time is more noticeable and abrupt than normal!
For stripping paint from wheels I usually use Super Clean all purpose cleaner, it will strip the chrome off of plastic parts and paint as well. If the paint is on white wheels it may stain them a bit. Also leaving them wheels in the Super Clean for too long with tint them a bit purple. You can also use spray on oven cleaner. I have not done that in a long time but I have done it and it did not bother the plastic at all. It may take a few sprays and cleanings to get them back to normal.

The Porsche should look pretty slick once the decals are on there. So far everything has been smooth sailing with it. Taping the body got trick in a few spots but it turned out well!
