- The Toronto Maple Leafs have been interested in retaining some of their pending free agents but who could they actually bring back? Mike and Dave start the show by giving their thoughts on the Florida Panthers taking a 2-0 series lead over the Edmonton Oilers. They pivot to the report that Max Domi and his agent remain in communication with the Leafs, which gets Mike and Dave wondering about the likelihood that the team can bring back some of their key free agents. They go through the list and give their percentage. To end the show, the Leafs conducted some interviews with some draft prospects so Mike and Dave look at who Toronto talked to and which players intrigue them from the list.

Hey guys. Question, if marner decides to play the season out and test FA, should the leafs accept that and play him all season or should they sit him and try and force his hand? It would be hard sitting a player with that skill level but the leafs management have never shown a back bone and this could be their opportunity to shed that reputation. Vagas is ruthless, should the leafs be aswell?
Q1: What are relationships between franchises and their ex GM's when it comes to trades? Specially Dubas and Treliving with their former employers.
Q. As broken sticks are very common,are a hazard and potentially disrupt play, why aren't they picked up immediately? Either a lineman or the second ref trailing the play just needs to quickly dump them in either bench while going by.

Bertuzzi really found his way in the second half of the year and even if he had been going good at the start of the season he easily would have scored 35-40 goals...if he is let go because we have absolutely no room on the cap to improve this team, it will bite us in the ass, he will score that much with his next team, he's in his prime. Sad but looks like we're running it back...yet again.

Question..how are the leafs gonna win the cup?
Leafs cannot trade Marner without Domi playing again with Matty, otherwise, a small player at center who coach did not trust in his own end, 9 goals, so yes, but no more $ than this year, 3-4 years. Bert not skilled, not big, NHL size & skill, not nose for net, not a net presence, not paid for play in his own end, = no more than what Domi made this year, so good bye. Edmondson LHD a no -show in offensive zone, not a transition d man, so good bye. Luby RHD, he & Rielly were plus 3, so a yes.
I think Domi stays. Samsonov, Brodie, Giordano, and Bertuzzi are all out the door. Both Marner and Tavares will be gone after next year. Come the '25-'26 season, it will be a very different Toronto team.
