They can advertise certain foods to you due to all those little 'club cards' that you think are free, that give you a so called 'discount' to the actual amount you should actually be paying in the first place. You 'give' them access to all your personal information and shopping habits, and you 'get' a few pennies off your shampoo and bananas, Then they sell the information you 'sold' for a 'discount'. It means they are blackmailing you legally for your private information and shopping habits and "letting" you pay what *should be the normal amount that they make to seem like a discount. I don't think we should be made to forfeit our info for a few cents. An amount they can obviously afford to l"lose".
I'm upset b/c I'm poor, which means I'm forced to use them.

James Thomsen So just put fake information on the form when you fill it out; heck a lot of times they leave a stack of them laying around near the checkout or service desk, just walk off with one then it has no info associated with it.

I do use ones that I haven't filled out successfully. The thing is, even if you use cash and no discount card, they still know exactly who purchased what, and when, via dozens of security cameras throughout each store. Every single purchase has a history. Yet again, my main problem is with the system that is using these cards to successfully aquire all these folks' information (to sell and profit from), in the name of a "discount" down to a price that should already exist, tricking (blackmailing) folks like my elderly mother who don't know any better (than to even take your advice) because they trust their food suppliers not to deceive them in this way. We're talking a hundred million people or more. No wonder these companies are willing to part w/a few pennies for such a staggering amount of information.
Next to no one knows. Their too busy at work and with their families.

TheKingleper I tell em I was born in 1900. Doing my bit for the over 100 demographic. Not surprisingly, not much marketing is targeted to my age group.

One can always opt out of such a system. It's not illegal yet...

It wasn't if you're having kids, it was if you had kids that are 6 months or younger. Otherwise, interesting
