@@joyceh2721 There are a good band, but not one I think you will like. Morrissey from The Smiths used to run their fan club, years before he was famous, he still loves them.

Not quite old enough to have caught on to them first time around but became a fan and bought the albums in the late 70s. Saw Johnny Thunders live in London in the early 80s and then saw the Dolls in London on this re-form tour. Great stuff 👍👍👍

Johnny thunders doesn't get the recognition he deserves. He was a badass innovator, if he was still here maybe he would be up there with iggy pop level

Great video. Remember Dad, younger brother and myself watching them for the first time on the OGWT in the early 70s. As soon as they played, the three of us were looking at each as in 'WTF is this?!' But in a good way. Our only reference point for their music at the time was The Stones. I was mainly into soul and funk, but I loved the Brit Glam Rock bands and hated prog rock (grown up now, I don't hate any music nowadays). They were a breath of fresh air. Little did I know then, but other kids were watching their performance, as well as the one by Dr Feelgood a year or two later and they both helped kick off Punk Rock.

Nice one, Stevie! Saw the reformed version in a club in Sydney. Of those departed, met Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan in Brisbane in '86 at a Thunders gig, Jerry played the show with one arm in a sling after breaking it in a tour van accident, troopers!
Oh Kev you lucky man, getting to see The Dolls live is great, but getting to meet them, just wow, I hope you got some photos or autographs?
@@ScottishTeeVee Hazy memories only. They're good ones, so they'll do. By the way, the Brisbane lineup was Thunders, Nolan, and Glen Matlock on bass. Thunders himself was, as to be expected, very relaxed.
