Excellent explanation. Thank you sir. I have few doubts. Does pressure gauge's show pressure based on height of liquid? If yes, how they read pressure at suction side? One more thing is could you please explain different pumps like inline, end suction, multi stage pumps etc ?

The pressure gauge does not take into account atmospheric pressure, so it does read what is within the closed system including the height and properties of the fluid. We'll put on the production schedule another video for pumps as you have requested where we can help clear up some of these questions and explain the different pump types.

@@MEPAcademy Sir I understand that gauge pressure doesn't take atmosphere pressure into account. My question is that pressure gauges measure based on height of liquid. if yes , how they measure pressure on suction side? I mean suction side is in datum position right( no height).

Excellent presentation. I noticed the channel is mostly on mechanical topics in commercial buildings. Any chance you can do more on the plumbing side? This would be perfect for explaining vertical multistage pumps like the CRs from Grundfos.

hello, it's extremely good and interactive, and could you possibly make a video on how to calculate NPSHA? thank you in advance

Thanks . You have the best hvac mechanical lessons.
At 13:21 is 92.4 ft the final reading for total head on a closed loop system? Wasn’t sure if you had to do more for total head.
    Thanks

Yes, this is the simplified version. There are other factors but they aren't significant in this example. Thanks for watching.

Great video. What is in this example the 90 tons? A chiller or a cooling tower?

    • @MEPAcademy

The example uses both a Chiller and a Cooling Tower. The tons are not important as the discussion is about Pumps. Thanks for watching.

Now if only we could get pool pump manufacturers to publish their actual efficiency and power curves! Pool pumps are ripe for disruption!
