    In love these how to shows. All the things you think of. It’s easy to show them doing tricks so that we forget they are not humans. They have their requirements, and we have to anticipate them so they can remain comfortable and safe.

    I've been watching these videos for a little while now, and, while all your eps are incredibly informative and fairly humorous, this one was really cool! The 'behind-the-scenes' view of how you care for the animals is my favorite. Thanks for the fascinating content! I look forward to binge watching the rest of your vids XD

    This reminded me of some of the presentations I got to see while I was back in elementary school.
    It was very interesting getting a peak to the preparation behind a presentation and I'd love to see how different animals get ready for heading out.
    I'd also be interested in seeing how you slowly get a new animal into the routine of doing a presentation. :)

    • @WickedWildlife

      AlthenaLuna yeah she is doing well to keep that age group interested with only a few animals!
      I normally bring 4-5 lizards, 3 pythons, a turtle, marsupial, bird and crocodile just so I can move though them quickly enough to keep the kids keen!

    I definitely loved this episode. It shows your passion so well, both towards the animals, as well as when interacting with the kids. As for an idea for episodes, how about a type of Kids-React to various animals. I guess that can be difficult, permit-wise, but if at all possible I think it would be a huge hit.

  • @alexandraw909
    @alexandraw909 6 лет назад +7

    This was a great video! More like this with the different animals and how they need to be 'handled' for presentations would be so cool! I was also wondering something.. I think i remember you saying once that the sugar glider pouch was full of their urine because that's just what they do, which obviously means it needs to be washed frequently to avoid illness for glider and human alike. My question is, how do they respond to the "this doesn't smell like us!" bit when it comes back? Do all the animals react similarly to freshly washed things?

    • @sweatpantsprincess3239
      @sweatpantsprincess3239 6 лет назад +2

      I don't know about sugar gliders, but I've had several rodent species (and a bunny) and they all behave the same: pushing around their litter, restoring their larder, digging through their substrate, and rubbing their scent on everything. They don't like it being new, but they aren't as threatened as if it smelled like a rival critter.
      Dogs and cats also will dig in newly washed blankets and roll around and mark them- many animals are good at covering an absence of scent up!
      Hopefully it's similar for the gliders, and hope that helps!

    This was so cute! I can't remember if you did a episode on crate training for exotics. I think you did one on dogs and cats or maybe it was just your dogs. But like myself I own a bird and a few rabbits. All are happily crate trained and know commands such as kennel up our crate. Yes my bunnies know basic commands lol. My bird knows go potty and she usually does it on command lol. Your videos have also taught me alot about dealing with exotic animals I don't even own. It has helped me help friends and family and have often referred them to your videos lol. We love you videos and have been a diligent watcher for several years now. Never missing a episode. Does the car ride ever stress the animals?

    • @animalwondersmontana
      @animalwondersmontana  6 лет назад +12

      Danielle Linder Sometimes when we rescue an animal the ride to Animal Wonders is really stressful, but once we teach them that their crate is a safe space and we work on lengthening the time in the crate and add movement a bit at a time, the actual car ride doesn't bother them since they're already used to movement.
