I can't imagine the stress I'd be under having as many cars as you do and to have to periodically check them all for operation and condition. That's a full time job right there!
I am absolutely loving this project dude. Yes there is so much trouble shooting and trial and error but that’s exactly what it is all about, thats what we love doing. You would never buy a flood car thinking it would start and drive anyway lol. Keep up the awesome work fella.
I have a Chevy Impala, also a GM product. One day at McDonald, I was leaving, and my signal wire for the solenoid burned out. So I did the same as in the video, I left the key in the ON position, and jumped the solenoid. My engine would start for 1 second, and then shut off. I did it a few times, same result each time. I had to get a guy to help me. I turned the key + he jumped the solenoid at the same time, that way the security would see that the engine started at the same time as key rotation. The engine started, and stayed running. I got the car home and fixed my burned wire. But if the car can detect key rotation, it's possible to jump the solenoid and rotate the key at the same time to start the engine.
Making a lot of progress here! Looking forward to watching you get er going and I too think it's something with anti-theft or possibly some bad signal telling the engine to shut down
OMG Al, I am absolutely amazed and astounded by your patience and perseverance! Those flooded cars seem like they would be impossible to bring back! You’re a miracle worker! Just curious your full-time job are you a mechanic of Some kind? At any rate, I love your videos, always a treat!
I forget how you solved the start stop issue but i found an interesting tidbit of info that would help others with similar behavior. (This is copy and pasted from Eric the Car Guy) The first thing to check for is fuel pressure. You can actually do this quickly on many systems. When you turn the key to the ON position, the fuel pump should run for about three to five seconds and then shut off. You need to know this for your testing so you don’t get fooled into thinking the fuel pump should run all the time with the key in the ON position. If the computer doesn’t see a crank signal after the ignition is turned on for three to five seconds, it turns the fuel pump off. During this time, fuel pressure should build up in the system and remain for some time after the fuel pump is shut off. The information about the crank sensor can be helpful here. If you have a start/die scenario, you might want to check the operation of the crank sensor. If the computer doesn’t see a crank signal it shuts off the fuel pump. If the fuel pump turns off, your engine won’t run.
I love youre channel i just sold my 97 century it had almost 350000 miles still ran like a top hoping to find another one i wish i coukd find a Beretta
Here's a little tip for you. I used to work on vending machine's that people would purposely pour salt water into so they would short out and eject all the coins. It would sit on location until I eventually got to it. I would soak the salted parts in a 50 gallon drum of fresh water overnight, take them out and let them completely dry out. Amazingly sometimes that would be all it would take to get them working again. The crystalized salt can still cause a short even after it dries.
Nice video buddy, Are you open to doing any product review that related to Auto led lighting? Hope our product could be a part of your great content 🙏🏻
Is the PCM/ECU online? I didnt see a check engine light. If the PCM is not connected for whatever reason due to a module failure or wiring to the PCM. If the PCM is off, it will not show a check engine light. Edit: forgot to add, the majority of the anti theft/immobilizer system resides on the PCM
That start and run for a few seconds really seems like an anti theft issue. What do you do about the gas in the tank on these flooded cars? Do you drain them out? I think unlocking disarms part of the anti theft system first but it looks like none of the locks are working. I see some big RWD Caddies on the ranch....
Hate to break this to you but your extremely wasting your time and effort on those terrible cars better to put that effort in a Chevy or anything other car even a cadillac but not this one
Your videos have really improved man! Editing is excellent! This is epic content man!!!
Thanks Randy. I bought a new computer so hopefully it will improve even more.
@@bigalsbikeandauto You're about to hit that 20K mark!

Well I have bought a couple flood cars from Ian that basically did fire right up and drive! 😂

Amazing you got this thing going Al. Well done.

Digging this series
Thanks Todd!
That’s because you’re a Cadillac man yourself now!
@@bigalsbikeandauto more so than you think lol
I’m loving this, hope to see more of you working on it soon.
An amazing rebuild by a super talented technician. Making the impossible work again..
Good to see how this project is going and it's going well i suppose and a lot of good work man.
Looking forward to the continuation.
So glad I ran into this channel ❤❤
Big Al with holiday weekend videos! Nice!
Struggling with the cumputers would scare the hell out of me. But im convinced you will get her running 😉

Not a mechanic, I actually have a white collar desk job lol
@@bigalsbikeandauto what a shock! Where did you learn these mechanical skills? Amazing!
@@williamcochell9889 just trial and error a little bit at a time. I certainly wouldn’t consider myself an expert at all; I learn as I go.
Al, after clandestinely watch for ages, I just became your newest Subscriber. These are fascinating to watch. Thanks.
another great video Al, looking forward to the next one 👍
Definitely a security shutdown issue. Keeping an eye out for Pt3!
Grest effort looking forward to part 3.
Wow! I had no hope you did an awesome job
Your Cadillac wants to live and can't wait for the next video and also happy Memorial day weekend l🤠🍻
To you too!

Amazing! I had my money on this car never running. Like your enthusiasm.
I will never buy a salt flooded car by the way...
Understandable. I buy them because I enjoy the challenge and these are very rare cars worth the time and effort.
Dope Content, Al. Keep them coming!!!
Big Al needs a nice cold Bud Light Beer after this😊
😂
When the car started and died, I thought of security immediately as well.
Father-in-law had a Montecarlo that’s that did the same.

Muy bien grande Al! Safety first.
Wow looks like an Elite type of car
al do you have a scan tool to see what codes pop up ?
Yes!!!
Great video ...
you are amazing on these Caddy's I am picking up an 89 Allante on Tuesday, been sitting for 5 years and it is soaked
You’ll get her back on the road!
Can you not plug in your diagnostics to check for immobiliser issues? See if it's getting start command?
I only have a basic code reader at this time but stay tuned for part 3 where my friend brought an Autel
Amazing work Al most people would have thought this Cadillac is long gone. Also did I spy a Jaguar S-Type? recently sold mine and really miss it
Stay tuned
Fun fact the Cadillac deville hand navigation option
That is 100% an immobilizer issue.

What on earth people actually do that?! 😂
I would say better to use distilled water to make sure you're introducing anything else
hope it works out
Come on part 3 😁

PCM is fine. Have to stay tuned for Part 3 and beyond. And in the case of GM this era the anti theft resides in the BCM.
Hey Al. What year would you say the Northstar head gasket issue was entirely fixed? Looking at 06 and newer STS V or DTS
Half way through 2004.
Suggesting a new title to broaden your appeal, nice work on the DTS though

No I don’t drain them out haven’t had an issue with water in the tanks as of yet
F Yah ! lol Does the salt water ruin the convertors ?
We’ll find out
Whoever is reading this, I hope this day will be a great day.
Did one of the modules have a Texas instruments logo? I thought they only made calculators
I didn’t see
yooooo al !!!!! looks like the acc is not being powered up . radio . windows ect. .all powered by the bcm .
You'll see in Part 3

Major progress. You're well on your way to cornering the market with vermillion red/ beige interior Deville convertibles.
Hey Al.
