This is so cute, and we called the red thing a gobbler. Very festive idea.
Whenever I'm looking for a great and easy to follow tutorial, you are my go to! Love this turkey! Love your variation of it's "snood" and the thing under the beak is a wattle.... don't ask me why I know, but some things just stick in the brain, LOL. Have a great Turkey Day!
Thanks Crystal. I have turkeys and this sure made me happy to find this pattern. The red part is a snood and it actually hangs off the top of the beak and hangs down when they get excited. It's just a bump on top when they are being cool but grows to about 4" when strutting or excited. Thanks again, I watch all of your patterns you post and have done some of them.
Crystal, you are so great. I've been following you for a few months and I just adore you! You're a great teacher and you always have great projects to show us. I LOVE going shopping with you! You crack me up! However, I know your struggle is real. It's like asking a lab to not play in the water! My weakness is bamboo crochet hooks (shhhh, and yarn; but I think I have them all fooled! I only drool over it online! When no one's around. Man oh man, if I had money I'd be dangerous or OWN a yarn shop!!😂🤣) Anyway, I live vicariously through you while you shop and I love staring at that gorgeous stash of yarn of yours❤❤❤❤be still my heart!
Thank you for your tutorials!! I'm SO glad I found your channel!! God bless and keep you, your husband and all your beautiful children. Thank you also, for raising children with a sense of responsibility, with lots of love and knowing they're needed. Great job Mom and Dad!! We need more parents raising good, responsible human beings. You're in my prayers. Again, thank you for loving what you do😘❤🙏❣
I almost forgot to tell you.....I LOVE YOUR TOM TURKEY!! I have 7 grandchildren! I'm going to be crocheting a rafter of those TOM turkeys!😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 It will be worth every minute. Thanks for a great pattern and tutorial. Have a great day and week. What days do your videos usually come out on? I've been sick for a while...so some days are better than others. I'd just like to know when to set my alarms. Thanks so much in advance. You're a LOVE!!💖
I really enjoy your videos!!!! I just finished the turkey. Your amazing at what you do and I would like to thank you for all of it. I just learnt how to crochet almost four months ago and Ive already made so many things mostly from your videos. I really appreciate you. Thank you
hi Crystal I love it and the red thing is his waddle
I truly love all your tutorials, you explain everything so easy thank you for taking your time to show us
That's a really neat project. I'm glad there are people out there who can teach me how. Thanks!

Love this pattetn! Hope I have time to make a set for my sis this year. She will love it.
I really appreciate your patterns and have made several of your things. Thanks for your hard work and saring with us. You do a great job of tutelage.
That little red neck hanging thing is called a "WATTLE." I really like this turkey & want to make one really soon.
Omg I am totally making one of these turkeys 🦃
Thank you for this pattern. I made it yesterday and it turned out great. You are such a great teacher.
What a cure project! Thanks for the tutorial. BTW the fleshy skin below the beak is called the wattle.
Thank you so much. Your designs are so creative and fun. I'm with you on the knots!
Thank you. Going to try and make it. With what ever yarn I got. Thank you so much
Hi Crystal, I can't wait to make a few of these. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and take care.
approx per placemat
80 yards red
50 yards brown
25 yards yellow
thank u
Hi Crystal I don't know if you read the comments on your past videos but I have an idea. Is there any way you could design this turkey decoration into possibly a Santa decoration? I think that would be really cute. Just a suggestion let me know what you think.
hello Crystal I just finished your turkey placemat. I'm loving this is so much fun to make. I had to Google the little red thing it's called a snood, it goes over the beak. the other red thing underneath its mouth is called wattle.
I just wanted to say thank you. Not only do you have a great tutorial but, having a hard time losing my grandma this week, this really has helped me get thru. Not to sound weird but, from a granddaughter, I just feel like I'm sitting right with you, learning. Hugs. Thank you so much. Subscribed to you and now following. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
I made mine to decorate my patio. 🦃
Thank you sooo much for this, what a great idea, i go to my sisters for thanksgiving so im making this for her. Also the thing under the neck is what my son used to call "The Gobble Gobble Thing" 😄😄
Well, that's what I'm calling it from now on!!!
The turkey pattern is so cute and I loved your tutorial on it. You made it so easy to make. The red wiggly thing on the turkey is called a wattle
The red part on his neck is called the wattle but we called it the gobbler growing up lol there's another red part above the males beaks that get engorged and hangs over the beak when he is strutting and its called the snood.
Love the turkey. I put that red thing that hangs down , start between the eyes on top of the beak. Then it hangs down 😉
Adorable holiday idea
Thank you very much. Your explanation for the work was beautiful and easy and I have applied it and it has become a nice shape in the kitchen I am from Saudi Arabia

Crystal, your the best! I love your tutorials, you are easy to follow.
Hi crystal, that red thing for the turkey is called a woddle
Happy Thanksgiving (Early) 🦃 I'm currently working on this pattern. I'm grateful for you. Thanks for sharing fabulous tutorials with the yarny folk. Blessings 🙏😇❤️
Made mine! It’s perfect
Thank you for making this great video, I enjoyed it very much. I sewed the head on before crocheting together cause I didn't want the back to show head attachment, also tucked waddle under beak before sewing down.
Made my turkey place mats and I love it thank you
I love hearing your kids in the background
I made this in eggshell cotton body and a variegated brown, orange, maize. when I got done I put 2 buttons at top sides so they can unbutton and have a large potholder for turkey plate. it worked up nice.
the little neck piece is called a wattle, they turn red when they are angry upset or about to mate! and I really enjoyed making these made a couple of them :)
Sarah Elizabeth I thought they were always red .... 🦃

This is awesome . I stuffed mine .
you know what....if we can fold the placemat in half and sew the face n neck pieces and then sew the 6 peaks shut....the yarn ties would be hidden.... great project:)
Thank you!!
Thanks totally love this pattern be a great decoration for Thanksgiving or for a gift
I love this pattern. You should do BOD kits lol I can never find the yarns you use and I'd pay for your patterns plus the yarn that goes with it 😄 I'm lazy and live rural.
Love this. I believe the red thing is called a waddle.
My dad says the red bit is called a waddle but gobbly bit sounds better lol x
Wattle but yeah when people say it, it sounds like waddle.

This is so cute.
He is so cute ❤
He is sooooooo cute! 🦃
So beautiful 👍
I can't wait to make a couple of these. One question. Does anyone know a good pattern for small eyes using the yarn? If someone were to use this for something hot I'm afraid the eyes would melt. I know it's supposed to be decorative only but you know how it is...
I loved this pattern when you first came out with it. And every year after I would watch it thinking I was going to make it. But as you know your crochet list grows and some things are higher priority. But this year, I made it for me. And I love it. I decided he needed a girlfriend so made her. Oh, I know the female looks different but in my world she has glitter and sequins. Thank you.
The dangling red thing is called a "snood" Love this pattern TY
