Great explanation of this important part of metalsmithing. This is the best description I have seen on RUclips. No one else mentions the ping when the saw is taut. Good job.
Look at all that open table top space and elbow room !!!!!! Thanks for another video ! I just got a box from Rio Grande with a shiny new piece of silver ! There is just something about opening that new sheet of silver !!! lol ! Do you ever use Larimar stones? I'm addicted to turquoise and Larimar !
@@SpiritMountainSilver I use coconut or cocoa chips for the necklace part and have Larimar beads that are drilled to add on the necklace and have some focal beads I do the silver bezel setting with. The y are so beachy ! Larimar prices have gone pretty high in the last couple of years. But I still have to have it. I can try to post some on my Instagram, I need to get rid of the old pics there and post some of my more up to date pieces. DO you use much Liver of Sulfer on your silver pieces? Have a great weekend !!!!!
Oooo that’s so cool!! Do you have an Instagram handle for your jewelry?! I’d love to check it out. And I use Midas Black Max from riogrande to add a patina to all my pieces! But I’ve heard good things about liver of sulfur as well 👍🏻
I watched you saw that piece of metal. I have never been able to cut a piece of silver that quickly. It looked liked the blade was slicing through butter! I bought a jewelers saw and blades. I believe it came with a pack of about 100 blades. I thought it was strange that it came with so many blades. Now I know why! The blades are constantly breaking and I don't use much pressure at all. It's also extremely difficult to load the blades. I can hardly tell which side of the blade has the teeth! They're just so tiny. I never used a lubricant, which probably didn't help things either. But are there blades out there that are stronger and possibly "bigger", that I could use? Thank you.
In this video I am using 22 gauge silver for the sawing out instructions but for impressions I like to use 26 gauge! I actually have another video on how to use impressions dies! Here is the link to it: ruclips.net/video/qcQH8WQnkOY/видео.html
Hi! I am not sure of the exact dimensions. However, I did link the saw in my description. If you click on the link it may tell you under the product listing :)

Thank you so much! 😊
Taught me what I need in a nutshell! Great video
Awesome vid. Could you expand more on the blade chart? How do I know when I would need a saw with 80 teeth compared to 50 teeth?
It all depends on the gauge of metal you are working with!
Thanks so much, would this work on 1 mm steel? I have a fixed bar in my watch I want to remove so I can replace the watch strap!
I love your videos so much they are so helpful!
Thank you so much!❤️
i love all your videos...thank you!
Glad you like them!

Oh, there is nothing better than opening a new box of silver!😍 And I actually haven’t worked with Larimar yet…🤯 I’m just realizing that now lol!

Bruh, I watched videos a while ago and they failed to mention the lubricant. I broke like 10 blades 😂. I’m going to make some bad ass sh*t now. 💯
Hahah!! I’m glad you were able to get something out of my videos!😁
This is great, What thickness sheet metal are you cutting here?
Thank you so much! I was working with 24 ga. :)

Hi Spirit mountain Silver! Whats the size of your saw frame? In your experience which sizes are the most udyin jewelry projects? Thanks for your time
Hi! I am not sure of the exact dimensions. However, I did link the saw in my description. If you click on the link it may tell you under the product listing :)
I like the jewelers saw.
Thanks!
Very informative
Glad you liked it!
Thank you
Thanks for the chance 🥰🥰🥰🥰
You're welcome!! Good luck!!😃
Isn't the top wing nut a tensioner? So u could listen that a bit, put in the blade, then tighten it.. instead of bending the frame with body weight
Thanx ❤
No problem 😊
I pray to figure this out. I think my saw blades aren’t ok or something because I just don’t understand
I hope this video helps! :)
