The Lord uses other people to get you close to him, when I wasn’t a Christian I also thought it was depressing to watch “the passion of the Christ” but when you try to understand why Jesus died it all becomes clear. In the Old Testament God gave us another chance after sin has entered the world and we committed any sin to ask the Lord for forgiveness we could sacrifice a sheep which had no sin. But God decided to come to Earth and heal, save, be a mentor and show us what love is because we were lost…Jesus was the sheep we used to sacrifice to have forgiveness, if God wanted to end this world after sin had entered it he could but he did not give up on us and he came to save the world not to condemn it. That’s why after a person commits murder and he/she repents and God sees it in their heart that they repent it, they don’t have to go and sacrifice a sheep, they go and look for Jesus because he paid that sacrifice perfectly. He suffered so much for us and now he’s our king. This is not about religion, Jesus never talked about religion as salvation, he actually had a lot of issues with the religious people because they did not want to believe in him. Jesus suffering was not even near to what we are seeing in this movie or any movie portraying and showing His suffering.. the truth it was more than that..Isaiah 52 gave clear description and picture of His appearance.. Isaiah 52:14But many were amazed when they saw him. His face was so disfigured he seemed hardly human, and from his appearance, one would scarcely know he was a man. Jesus felt the pain of the flesh when he was in human form. He died and suffered like an animal but never cursed his punishers for what they did to him. Interesting note, Barabbas was only part of the mans name. His first name is lost to history. Jewish naming customs you have a first name and it is followed by son of. So Jesus full Hebrew name was Yeshua Bar Yosef or Jesus son of Joseph. Barabbas spoken properly would have meant son of Abbas.

I am a believer and understand that the crucifiction scene in this movie is more symbolic than anything else but, realistically they would have nailed through the hollow point in his forearm. If they did it in his hand, his weight would cause the nail to just rip through his hand. The Romans wanted to keep people alive for as long as possible. Interesting note, Barabbas was only part of the mans name. His first name is lost to history. Jewish naming customs you have a first name and it is followed by son of. So Jesus full Hebrew name was Yeshua Bar Yosef or Jesus son of Joseph. Barabbas spoken properly would have meant son of Abbas.

I am a believer and understand that the crucifiction scene in this movie is more symbolic than anything else but, realistically they would have nailed through the hollow point in his forearm. If they did it in his hand, his weight would cause the nail to just rip through his hand. The Romans wanted to keep people alive for as long as possible. Just so you would feel the most pain you could before you died
