- Moving right along! Today I walk through the simple but often overlooked procedures of proper installation of the ejector and plunger tube.
If you have a different method for doing this, share down below!
Thanks for the drill bit size!

While you are obviously talented and knowledgeable regarding the 1911
Your instruction suffers “painfully” with the constant digressions and searching for parts.
Before filming, lay all parts and tools out flat on the bench
Prepare a short written “outline” in “bullet points” in order of steps you are going to cover to keep you organized and flowing “in control” of your presentation.
This would improve your ability to look and sound as knowledgeable as we know you are, and make understanding the presentation a pleasure for all of us 1911 gun Nazi’s
The written outline is your "savior" when speaking to the public.
Thanx and Good Luck, EMR
My kit didn't come with a pin for the ejector. Do they all need one or are there models that don't require the pin?
A lot of times the ejectors wont come with their respective pin. You'll need to order one separately, you can find them at Brownells, EGW, or pretty much any other place that sells 1911 parts. Good luck with your build!
@@samwindisch5596 thank you. I got one ordered. Have you ever seen a extractor not fit in its chamber in the slide? Mines too tight to fit. Would I need to sand and polish the extractor or the chamber?
Yep, seen it a few times. If it is just the end of the extractor that is not fitting, I would take some 220 grit sand paper and slowly remove material until you get a tight fit. You're going to blend the end of the slide later anyways so I wouldn't worry if it isn't super pretty at first.
@@windischgunworks6777 oh, ok. Cool! Gonna get right on that. Thank you.
@@windischgunworks6777 got it to fit. I think I need to mess around with the tension a bit but seems to kick out dummy rounds pretty well most of the time.
Where would you buy the tools to help install the buffer?
Plunger I mean sorry
The Brownells staking tool might have been that price two years ago but now it’s like $56
You should have installed these before anything, keeping the Action parts in the frame are opening the possibilities to have them damaged.
Why would you install the ejector before the plunger tube?
Too much blah blah
Just get to the point pls thanks !
