Sweetwater's Don Carr is joined by Taylor's Mike Ausman for an overview of the 214ce Plus acoustic-electric guitar. The Taylor 214ce Plus represents all that has made Taylor a trusted and sought-after instrument: impeccable design, fine appointments, and signature Taylor tone. This Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric features a solid Sitka spruce top with layered Indian rosewood back and sides for a blending of full low end, crisp high end, and a balanced midrange. A mahogany neck with African ebony fingerboard offers incredible playability and response, and with a deep Venetian cutaway, you can easily access those higher notes up the fingerboard.

Such a great guitar, I finally own one. Thank God. You can't go wrong with Taylor
My 214ce dlx was made in Tecate on September 5th, 2018. It was the 399th guitar built that Wednesday.
I love this thing!
Totally worth the price! A really fkcing.... nice instrument!
I own a Taylor T5z DLX and I LOVE IT, one of the best guitars I own
Just got my 214CE plus a couple days ago and it’s honestly the nicest acoustic I’ve owned! Easily competes sound and playability wise with much more expensive options!
Is this a paid review ?
Ngiam Tee Ee - no sir, I just honestly like the guitar.
@@earlyj7487 is it made in the US?
@@kaitodesire No, Mexico.
I got a 2019 214ce and it’s the best acoustic I’ve ever had
taylor guitars the only guitar thats pleasing to ear. love taylor.
Seriously considering this, solid good sounding acoustic.
Still waiting for this to come in, other outlets have this, not gonna wait much longer.
@@astrophotonics9470 I literally just got mine for Christmas and I absolutely love it. It’s not just a an acoustic electric that requires an amp to sound serviceable. It really is an acoustic guitar with a pickup in it. It plays extremely well however and whatever your playing, and I’m not a guitar guru and I don’t know a ton about this kind of stuff, but it’s an amazing instrument. If you are still considering it, I can vouch for this guitar, it’s amazing.
Don’t need a higher series!! The 214 deluxe is enough for me! Played more gigs than I can remember and all I played with were amazed!!!
Happy to read this, wait for mine which should arrive Saturday :-)
I have one ,love it !
I have a 2009 214ce and love it.
Suena súper increíble 🤩
Super Guitar!
Does anyone know what is the mic used in this video? It sounds really good :D
I'm choosing between Taylor 214ce plus and Martin GPC11E. Which is better?
For me, I would choose Taylor 214ce but little pricey, also Martin guitar always good
What is the action like on this? looking for something with a lighter action, my current mid-low end acoustic is very high action and painful for long studio days.
Actions great on this guitar, soft but not squishy. This guitar and its case are a perfect pick at the price point, I picked one up a few days ago! Great tone woods for the price
@@jacksonsummerfield4184 Thanks for letting me know, i'm close to buying either this one or the normal 214ce as I already have a soft/hard case like the aero. The action was the main point which seems like it is good. enjoy your new purchase :)
I just bought a 214ce but it isn't a + model. What is the difference between a 214CE and a 214CE+ ?
Hi, joesanders6898. The two guitars are almost identical, but the Plus features a torrefied Spruce top. The torrefication process removes moisture from the wood which reduces the weight and allows it to vibrate more easily. Overall, it allows the guitar to have more dynamic range and overall volume.
Thanks for your interest!

This guitar or gibson j200?
this all the way
I had a 114ce once,it had a beautiful acoustic tone but was a real tragedy when plugged in a PA.I sold it and bought a Maton, and never looked back eversince
Dario Crocetta which model???
@@pramesh.gurung a Maton Tommy Emmanuel model
@@dariocrocetta9026 So basically you sold an 800$ guitar and got a 3000$ guitar and you never looked back... Sounds about right man.
@@PatatoKeftes yes, because unfortunately Taylor doesn't make a lot of LEFT HANDED models (I'm lefty). The highest quality instruments they make are the 114CE or the 214CE, or I guess you have to be very lucky to find a better lefty model somewhere else...if they have ever made one...I had bought a 114CE because I thought that for 900 Euros I would have had a fine instument from a very important brand.I discovered that i would have bought a better guitar for half the money if I would have bought an Ibanez or a Cort. I was luckly to find the Maton in a local shop and I decided to spend 2.500 Euros on my last acoustic rather than keep on hope to find a good cheap one. This is all BECAUSE I'M LEFT HANDED.
My biggest disappointment with Taylor is that they ask you 900 euros (at least in Italy) for a guitar that has the worst electronics on the market, just because it has the "Taylor" writing on the headstock. The acoustic tone was fine, anyway.
I had a similar experience with a 314ce. Sounded and played great. Plugged into the PA and all I got was a quiet/thin sound. I mean barely audible. I plugged in my buddy’s Taylor into the same input, same cable and it sounded great. I took mine back to GC and they had a “Taylor tech” look at it and he said “it’s working properly.” I said “then you’re buying this guitar back from me.” I bought a Martin that same day. Thankfully they gave me a good deal on the Martin.
Hmmm. A layered back and sides guitar that sounds good. Didn’t think that was possible.
?????? There are many out there
Why?
Remember they said layered back not Laminate.
@Jon Oz Got mine for $1,000. for the quality I don't find that too expensive. Plus as a lefty, not many options out there.
This or the 314ce?
I would go 214
this
I don't know if I was playing the plus versions or not, but I played both the 214ce and 314ce the other day. The 214 has a more balanced sound and the 314 is mid-high nasally, but still really good, but the 214 sounded better to my ear. However, the 214 used laminate wood on the back and sides. The 300 series and up are all solid wood.
@@stellarv5689 exactly the 300 and up are solid wood....Im leaning towards that now myself
Which did you end up getting? I can't decide between 214ce plus and 314ce
Never had one………..yet!
ok no bs the yamaha a3r and epi masterbilt sound way better than the 200 series..
no it doesnt
implayed them all The japanese yamaha was right there with a taylor 200 in the store
No lefty model. Fail.
Nice guitar, lol.
shred
taylor advert, was hopng for more.....
The players face at the end isn't like that because "he's feeling the music." It's squinting because it doesn't sound that good....
I've has this guitar for 3 days and so far it is hard to play. I don't like it much
Uh.... it's not the guitar.
