I am not a boot maker, I am a bass guitar builder and as such it is my opinion that craftsmen will never be gone. Even today when factories churn out cheap, mass produced merchandise there are still people who build things the old fashioned way...by hand and there are people who will buy things that were built by hand.
If he paid $425.00 USD in 1977 I hate to think what those boots would cost today! :O I really get a kick out of watching these master cobblers talk about boots! Mr Dorwart seems to be a very likable guy.

I love the looks of my custom boots, but walking on them all day hurts.
You must not have used a good bootmaker. There's a lot of variables when designing a boot and they must've forgotten something
